Meditrina gym leaders never needed to set up a puzzle for challengers. Instead, the gym lies at the center of a stone labyrinth thousands of years old, where there's an open space encircled by great stone plinths carved top to bottom with runes. No one knows its original purpose, but it serves well as an arena for pokemon battles--and also as a gathering place for survivors of the scourge.

Not the only but certainly the most major of the excavation sites, Febris is theorized to have once been a resting place for the dead, but that's just one of many explanation for the excessive number of ancient pokemon bones uncovered so far. There are signs that it might have been a holy ground, and the center of the excavation features the partially uncovered bones of a giant dragon pokemon.

Nenia's Tunnel is equally well known for the hermit Nenia who lives there and the perfectly preserved cave drawings that line the entire path. The fiercest and most stubborn of the Bacchus townspeople have taken refuge here, where Nenia grudgingly offers her protection. A small river trickles into the tunnel, and there's enough rations to last a good while. It won't last forever, and the people murmur about fighting back against the scourge.

Fulgora Fields still functions as it once did, providing electricity to nearby towns and cities. Strange, glowing power cores litter the area, and great stone plinths connect criss-crossing metal chains. No one is quite sure how it all works, and modern scientists' best attempts at mimicking the technology have failed miserably. Many electric- and steel-type pokemon live here, but most others would rather not get shocked.

While the scourge left the excavation sites remarkably untouched, they devastated the town. It seems the people of Meditrina have brokered a nervous peace with the scourge, but no one's been seen leaving the town.
