This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Decima Town isn't dead--not yet, not while Decima Gym lives on. The rest of the town might have the makings of a toxic wasteland, but these poison specialists don't mind in the least. After realizing the town was doomed, the gym leader himself ordered poison dumped into the water, venom washed over the roads, and toxic fumes unleashed into the air. The gym still takes challengers, but the poison itself is the real enemy to beat.

Pal Park was Kohaku's prettiest public park and home to the very active Pokemon Fan Club. Its caretakers are the von Traad family, who own the clubhouse and manage both park and club events. Since the scourge, it was simply abandoned. Nothing there was remotely defensible. The scourge ran through, trampling the flower gardens and muddying the wishing wells.

Decima Town's underground subway system is now its lifeline. Mefitis Underground was an abandoned subway line, only half constructed, and it became a haven for the poor and unwanted. Now, it's also proven as defensible as a bomb shelter, it's the only place left in Decima Town where neither the scourge nor the poison kill you dead. Mefitis is a very small, very miniature version of a town, complete with its own shops and services.

REQUIRES FLY OR SURF TO ACCESS - Epona River bisected the region, marking the natural boundary line between the Aureans and the Prosepines. It wasn't until modern times that Kohaku built Epona Bridge as a show of unity and architectural ingenuity. While the bridge stood, there was an escape route. After the scourge destroyed the bridge, ferries and boats made a one-way trip to Hespera. Now, there's no way out.
Unlike Nerio City, Decima Town crumbled under the Scourge's first onslaught. Now, the town is nothing but ruins, but at least the Scourge dares not step foot there again, because simply to breathe the air is to breathe poison. Decima's gym leader has ensured that the fallen town in uninhabitable for anything living. Only the gym's most dedicated trainers remain, immune to their own poisons. Their only concern now is battling the Scourge.
