This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

It's a week's journey without water to get to Fortuna Oasis, which prevents the scourge from attacking here en masse. It's isolation is its strength now, as the oasis hosts the Pokemon Association and Ranger's Union as they try to take the battle to the scourge. There's almost a real town here now, complete with a makeshift pokemon center and research facility, both surprisingly well-equipped.

Lua Highway cuts straight through the desert and stops at the foot of Mt. Aurae. It's lined with supply stations that haven't been replenished for about a month now, but there's still food and water that can be scavenged along the road. Most of the fighting against the scourge occurs here. The scourge expect to find people on the road, and the people know the scourge will be out hunting.

REQUIRES STRENGTH TO ACCESS. - Not far from the oasis is the remains of a marble coliseum. Bits and pieces of other buildings surround it, implying that a small city might've been on or near the oasis in the past. If so, nothing's survived except for Tellumo Amphitheatre. Experts estimate that it's a few hundred years old, much newer than other ruins in Kohaku, yet no record of the people that lived survived.

In the middle of the desert, there stand three gargantuan limestone statues of ralts, kirlia, and gardevoir. The tallest of them, gardevoir, stands about ninety feet tall. They cast a long shadow across the desert. Common belief is that they're waymarks of old, meant to help travelers cross the desert. Others think there must be more than that. Why would the ancients have built something so spectacular just for a landmark?
Dry and hot during the day, freezing cold at night, Mors Desert is more or less what you'd expect of such a place. Its scorching heat and unbearable cold is a gift to Kohaku, as only the most resilient of the Scourge can cross it--but cross it they shall. Eastern Kohaku feels secure in the strength of the desert, but the Ranger Union currently fights to delay the scourge. They know for a fact that it's not a question of if but of when.
