This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

How are you? Things have been great in nerio Nerio, even though it's been raining at odd hours. I can't focus on reading because there's thunder, but other than that, I've been good. Delilah's gone out to buy something.
I wish I have a pokémon to keep me company, sometimes. It gets awfully boring.
Delilah isn't back from shopping yet. She's been taking a long while at the shop.
If you can't focus, you should take a break. Delilah never believed in them, but they can be very good for you. It's been remarkably clear in Proserpina though.
Did you hear? I've become a breeder for Eos. Then again, I don't think Delilah would When I come home, I'll bring a Pokémon just for you.
How is Delilah? I haven't received any replies from her, but that doesn't mean I'll stop writing.
"Wild ones are finicky. Maybe keep a treat or two in your pockets for when you see one.
That's good to hear, sort of. ... I don't recommend you press her if she gets into one of those moods. You know what I'm talking about, right? It's probably because I've bumped into her recently though, so maybe we'll bump into each other soon too.
Your Pidgey Mail is more than enough to keep my spirits up! Don't push yourself though, you hear?
Don't forget to brush your teeth every night, Mordecai."
"Yes and no. She punched me in the face. I think that's Delilah's way of saying hello. I know I can't make up for lost time, but I think that she still cares deep down inside. Sometimes I wonder if she blames me for misses me too. She could have walked right past me though.
She did push me over the edge of the docks though.
I'm almost there. I'm camping out in Ceres Forest, so it shouldn't be too long. I've decided, I'm coming home soon. I'm coming home as soon as I can. I'd like to take you to the Amber Glade. It's very nice there, peaceful too.
Does it? I'm glad it does. It makes me happy being able to speak with you.
Staying up too late is bad for your health, Mordecai."
That sounds like Delilah. You probably didn't mistake someone for her. Funny how she pushed you into the sea, though! Did you pull her in as well? That would have been really funny!
Really? You're coming home soon? That's good to great news! I don't want to go anywhere after you're back, though. I want to stay put and not go anywhere.
Don't you think it's been a while since you've stayed home for a while?
"I didn't pull her in. She had to come get me though! I still can't swim very well. Delilah still ended up in the water, so I suppose you could say I indirectly pulled her in!
Yeah, I'm coming home soon. I think it would do you some good to spread your own wings, despite what Delilah might think. She just worries about you, not that I don't, you know? It's okay if you want to stay in Nerio for a bit more though. Maybe once we find a Pokémon for you, you'll feel safer. I know I would.
You're right, I can stay a little while. It's not really home, but it'll do, right?
"Maybe one day there will be something at Home. I'm sure of it. When the area is clear, we can help rebuild and put things back together again. Delilah would grouch, but I think she'd like that too.
I'll have to think about that then. I want your Pokémon to be special for you. I'm sure that I will find something that suits you. It shouldn't be too hard.
I'll take that Delilah hasn't let you get your own Pokémon yet, has she?
"I've been going to the library recently, and fossil pokémon are rather fascinating. They're old but young at the same time! They're pretty cool, don't you think?
Delilah hasn't, but she has her own pokémon. Sometimes I get to play with them, if she's in a good mood if I ask her nicely!
"Fossil Pokémon, yeah? I think they're pretty neat too! Now that I think about it, I do (No, I'll have you wait instead.)
Researching is always helpful. There is plenty that you can learn by examining Pokémon closely, but some answers can be found just as easily or just as well in books. You should use all the resources you have around you.
Yeah, I think I saw a Riolu and a Budew with her? They're in great shape!
"Yup, using all my senses and eyes and ears to make sure I don't get jumped or surprised by wild pokémon! I can't help keep getting into trouble with them, right?
I wonder what Delilah feeds them, they look awfully healthy.
