This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Jerk. Staring at the other, with a flustered face and narrowed eyes, Zach waited a moment before smiling. "You make it sound like we are raising real children together" He laughed now, waiting a moment before closing his eyes now, mumbling. "We'd raise the worst children. Ya' know that? .. but I know babies, don't you worry!" Humming this, the boy couldn't stop before pecking the toher'c heek softly, thent ightly closing his eyes. "You'd be a nice dad" boone
"But, aren't they real children? They might not be human, but they're still kids," Cameron pointed out, squeezing Zachary's shoulder tight as he pulled away. The moment Zachary kissed his cheek, Cam was on his feet, a bright smile on his face. It was as if his tired muscles were willing to move again. He felt filled with a new found energy and excitement. "I think I'd be a great dad. If this Scourge deal ever ends, I'll think about it. Walk with me? And grab your things. We might as well get somewhere while we talk." He made his way toward the lake, bringing out a ball to return his Horsea. He whispered a soft 'see you soon' before returning him to his belt.
It didn't take long the few things they had. He worked fast, tugged the bag over his shoulder, and took back his pokemon into it's ball. Barely ten minutes passed before they were well on their away along the lakeside. Zach walked beside Cameron, eyes shifted awya from him. Why did he do that. Rush of the moment. That was the only reason. He was so stupid. Taking a nervous breath, he dared to glance at his friend then the water side once more. "You will! You were always so gentle to ..well, me. When I was young. You do well with children"
"We were pretty much the same age when you were young! I'm barely older than you are," Cameron reminded him, eyes rolling as he poked and prodded at his side with a meaty elbow. He was smiling though, close enough to Zachary that their shoulders would have touched- if only they were the same height. But Sterling was a beast of a man. He tugged his friend with him, down the path they came from, but onto another path that would lead onward. "Are you ready to move forward? A series of caverns come next."
"Yes! ..are you?" He smiled a bit, nudging the other back. "Better be. Wouldn't be suck if I had to come and save you. The princess in need" Well he was enjoying himself. The boy hummed with a bit of joy while looking ahead. He was nervous - anxious. He was scared. Yet, he was always scared. Zach never let this show. At least, tried.
Cameron's glare hardened and he gave the boy a sudden jab in his ribs. "If I'm the princess then you better get on your knees and beg me for forgiveness for that comment," he snorted, eyes rolling back. But he continued walking. They had a journey to continue, and he was the man to lead they way. Cameron knew their destination, and he knew that Zachary was going to follow.
