This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Aaron set his spoon down upon the plate. He's a very clean eater. All of the Hades Agents have lost something, but he cannot help but feel that this should be something like a new family. Of course, no person in existence would ever replace Embla for Aaron, just as nothing could ever wipe clean the blood spilled upon the Rosenburg name. The man doesn't fully understand the history behind it, but he understands that Sophia does not wish to discuss it.
"I used to be a teacher once," Aaron says. The tone, nearly blasé, seemed to suggest that nothing should be thought of it. Teaching had certainly been entertaining. At least the teenagers spiced up his days. Sometimes, he'd even find a sort of pleasure out of counting how many paper airplanes he had collected during a single session of calculus.
"It was a nice distraction," Aaron replied, though he inevitably grew bored of it. "I met some very interesting individuals." He used the term "interesting" quite loosely. "Very interesting."
There wasn't much else to say about his old job. He was the teacher who wrote up every damn student that felt brave enough to cut his class. He did not, however, make it a point to check homework every single day, but when he did, Aaron was absolutely merciless to those who were caught without their work.
sophia finishes what remains of her dish. a waiter stops by to ask whether they would like dessert. sophia refuses. she pauses for aaron to give his response. she doesn't mind footing the bill for that at all.
Aaron glances at Sophia with a quizzical expression. He doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, but he is also willing to enjoy a slice of cake if the other party wanted some too. On the other hand, it doesn't look like Sophia wanted anything sugary, so he shakes his head. "No thank you," the man says, "Though some coffee would be nice."
The caffeine would keep Aaron up tonight. He doesn't think it would make much of a difference though. Lately, the man has found that he was growing increasingly restless.
