This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Dude, I'm not sure they're even capable of organization beyond LISTEN TO ME FOR I CAN KILL YOU DEAD IF I WANTED TO OKAY. But I do think their revolutionary goals are shared amongst all the thinking ones, so it's pretty easy for them to work together for a greater cause.
i think there should be like...a hades commander in chief kinda thing. i mean, how else are they working? xD are they just randomly attacking or are they being ordered by someone?
i think that's what i was trying to get a feel for in the diabolus thread.
honestly, i'm not too enthusiastic for a commander in chief thing bc i can't really see it happening with this lot (unless someone wants to take the reins i guess??? the other agents should want to cooperate with this person tho)
i think the agents generally trust each other to know what they're doing and to be engaged in activities that further the scourge's survival.
the agents are about as organized as the scourge imo. they shouldn't have a leader, not now at least. i think the scourge's will is pretty much their leader, or rather that's the case for my agents.
iskander's in it because 1. lulz & 2. the scourge (his metagross, pretty much a supercomputer lol) promised him something interesting to see. issei joined because his only pkmn turned scourge. neither of them are completely for the new world order.
it is very likely that if a leader comes into the picture iskander won't listen to them, and issei would just continue doing his own shit.
yeah honestly sophia is mostly around to do damage control. find deets on what eos is up to while she's in normal society and act as security when she needs to. she's actually quite moderate and wouldn't like the idea of human civilization being done away with. she's here to stop eos, not cause the apocalypse
the furies' names re: voracious eater sighs happily riful and priscilla
and tbh cameron's camerupt is kind of sassy. like, they're actually genuinely attached to each other? i based the personality off the fact that scourge pokemon aren't all 'foooood' and 'killl' but that they just happen to have super-strong feeding instincts/have naturally aggressive reactions to most stimuli. i never really thought of them as zombies, tbh. they're just pokemon that act differently. not sure how i feel about hive mind, but as for expansion and whatnot they could just be kind of territorial? too many scourge in certain areas and they want to expand outward -- and attack any non-scourge that enter b/c they're essentially invaders.
... and as for New World Order and Such Things, i never thought it was the scourge themselves that wanted a new world. again, they just don't like invaders. i always considered the agents using the scourge for their own purposes, and that the scourge themselves wouldn't turn on other scourge -- so really the only possibility for humans who are accepted scourge is to be on their side, and not on the side of eos.
cameron does believe in the aforementioned New World Order and Such Things, though. i get the feeling she's very, uh, marxist. she's also kind of chafes against authority, and taking orders isn't her style, so yeah a leader probably wouldn't go over well at this point. if there is a leader, then it'd have to be one that becomes one through threading, because the transition from an application to a character on-site changes a lot of things -- and they may be apped as a leader, but we wouldn't know if they'd suck at it or if the other agents would listen to them at all.
i just came up this idea while i was writing a post but
maybe the hades virus is a perversion of the pokerus? the in-game virus that doubles effort values gain? (i've actually gotten it once on my heart gold espeon)
maybe the reason why development is so slow is because pokerus is so hard to obtain, if it even exists natively in kohaku. maybe some crackpot researcher wanted to try something new.
Maybe it was a strand of Pokerus? You know, the little 'illness' from the games that spreads around and helps your Pokemon get stronger? You could always say the scientists at Pax were farting around with it to make its effects even stronger and make the Pokemon infected even stronger. Of course, they screwed it up and ended up turning Pokerus into Hades.
Or you could say that Hades was always native to Kohaku and was just laying dormant for hundreds or thousands of years. The scientists found a sample, and decided to mess with it to see if they could turn it into something useful and in the process reactivated it and let it spread. You could link that in with the Somnus Ruins. Maybe the Hades from long ago wiped them out.
