This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Osirus stood in the middle of the training plot with his tiny Joltik in hand. "Alright, Napoleon. Ready for practice?" the man questioned, while the pokemon's response was more cute than fearsome, Osirus didn't seem to have any doubt in his pokemon's abilities. "We're going to practice using your size to your advantage today-" he started, going on to explain the routine for the day to the spire pokemon. A routine that the small pokemon eagerly followed to the letter. It was mostly just hiding behind obstacles, and other things that were more physical training than anything. One might think the simple exercises were pointless for the tiny pokemon, but in reality the impact of the training was mental rather than physical. After all, a tiny, seemingly weak, pokemon who has a supportive trainer that they want to give their all for will, in the long run, be ten times better than a pokemon with monstrous strength who has no connection with their trainer.
Sweat dripped down Ludis' brow as he ordered his Axew, Boulder around. He and the pokemon had been out for some time with the breeder workind on getting his pokemon in shape, and even running about with him. At the moment, he had no intention of fighting with his pokemon, however, that didn't mean he was going to sit around and coddle them. At heart he was still a trainer, and he was going to work his pokemon as hard as he could to make sure that, when the time came, they could handle themselves. He wasn't going to lose another pokemon, not again.
Normally, Osirus put an emphasis on training his Joltik, however, he recently aquired an egg that hatched into a spiffy little Venonat. As a result, he shifted his focus on training the newborn so it won't be behind the rest of his pokemon. However, the training ended up being a lot of running around and chasing the young pokemon whom was far more interested in goofing off than he was interested in listening to what his trainer had to say. At least the two of them got some cardio done, right?
Vasya wasn't a very serious trainer, and that reflected into his 'training'. Training that really just consisted of hopping into a pool with his Magikarp, King, and just rough housing around with him. To be fair, he tried his best to be formal about it, playing chases at the start, but things were just downhill from there when he finally managed to catch the Magikarp, and the play fighting began.
Being as they were the two weakest pokemon on his team, Ludis decided on an alternating schedule for Dulachán, and Boulder. Last week was Boulder, this week was Dulachán. Not one who often used water-types, especially not ones who lived in the water, he wasn't exactly sure what to do for their training. For today he had a focus on laps. Usually, he worked alongside his pokemon, but today he stuck to the shallows, not being confident in his swimming abilities.
