the scourge clefairy made for a strange creature to venture through the area. it wasn't much of a fighter, really.
it hopped about, chirping happily. a dark silver metagross surveyed the area, its brains churning and whirling to process its chances of leaving this place alive.
Oh shi—Those were scourge Pokemon, weren’t they? And before they could so much as blink, the local assist jumped out to face the foul creatures invading its home. Well, it jumped out at the Clefairy; the Pachirisu was smart enough to challenge the weaker looking Pokemon.
<No fair, I wanted to fight the Clefairy.>
“Who cares. Get the other one. I’ll back you up.” Tiffany pulled out her styler and began to draw… wait. She shook it once and tried it again. Nope. Apparently the styler was taking the day off. “Oh, fudgepot!” Hello Major Awful Luck and his friend Colonel Horrible Timing.

well, these scourge aren't so random. they're partnered to agents, but their agents aren't around. good luck, tiffany and mo. (mo i'm rooting for you.) the scourge are lv30*2 = 60, a suitable challenge for them.
the two creatures saw their targets. the metagross used its intellect to quickly map out a course of action. they would stay and fight this battle.

And just as the Metagross made his plans, Mo tried to do the same. Kind of. Unfortunately, having a confused teammate wasn’t really all that helpful. C’mon Pachirisu, snap out of it. You got this.

I’m gonna be honest here: part of the reason Mo wants to burn his opponent is so he can make some kind of burn joke. In fact, that is the highlight of his "plan".
they aren't, by virtue of some sort of divine intervention. they're just fighting without agents, which is a good thing for tiffany and mo. and of course, the little pachirisu.

Any and all happy feelings immediately dissipated when the Clefairy shrieked. That sound was at least worthy of a B-grade horror film and might even reappear in a couple of nightmares. Who knows.

As wonderfully sadistic as that sounds, Tiff is currently progressing across the map at a Slowpoke’s pace. Although, I will make an effort to remember that a shrieking, screaming Clefairy that’s breathing fire should be on the top of the nightmare list.
Seriously, it’s breathing fire now. Everyone had thought that the Metagross was the one to look out for but you didn’t see him throwing an angry, dangerous hissy fit.
Maybe the Clefairy could use a good ol’ joke like the Metagross did.
