This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

bosch was a strange person. he didn't look like a normal person at all -- clad in a body of armor and looking nothing like the average person, he walked over to where the girl was and sat down next to her.
he mirrored her stance, head on his knees.
the tower of janus stood tall, but its trademark prism had disappeared ever since the arrival of two strange man. curiouser and curiouser. was this trainer going to steal something else from the tower?
little did thalia know that his armor was powered by the sun. he was relatively warm, but he had froze for a moment when a solar eclipse happened. (that had been very unpleasant.)
"when the sun is out, no." that probably meant that it was horrible to be in it at night, but bosch didn't seem to mind. he shifted slightly and placed his sword by his side. "it's not your average suit of armor."
"so that you can't see my face," bosch joked. "but if i have this armor and not put it to use, it would be a shame. i had given up a lot to obtain it -- and this sword."
"oh?" bosch's voice was a surprised one. back in his time, the anvil was demanding, but it paid well. perhaps something else had changed in di manes, forcing the anvil to adapt. "that's nice of it. i didn't know the anvil was capable of being so benevolent.
"its patron might have valued your sacrifice more than you did, then. that is a rare happening."
"Rare happenings seem to occur to me with great frequency."
She sat up and leaned back against the steps.
"Do you happen to know where I would find someone named Bosch? Someone called Weatherfield told me I had to find him for my keystone, but I admit I'm not having the best luck in doing so."
A man walking around an abandoned tower in a suit of armor actually seemed like the ideal candidate for giving away mysterious objects of power, but Thalia decided to wait for his answer.
bosch's gaze was transfixed on the space behind thalia for a moment at the mention of weatherfield. the words 'keystone' and 'bosch' seemed to have little effect on him; what he focused wholeheartedly upon was the name of his old friend.
"ah," he said, rather simply. "weatherfield. a good friend and a good person."
the idea of thalia having spoken to the dead seemed to bother him little. bosch remained in his thoughts for a moment longer, before his gaze shifted and his eyes narrowed skeptically.
"... can you really not tell that i'm bosch? do i strike you as serkan, champion of kohaku?"
bosch let the name roll upon his tongue a few times, while he tried to find the correct pronunciation. it wasn't a name he heard often while he was ... younger, for lack of a better word.
"ah, but sometimes trouble could be a blessing in disguise. how did you meet weatherfield?"
