This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

"in the village, although living in a tent isn't impossible." it really wasn't. she had tried it once, back when she was young, and she'd been glad to go back to plumbing and electricity, thank you very much. "it makes the most sense, yeah. although some people do skip over it sometimes. juturna's a small enough village, but passing through the forest is a must."
The face Tiffany tried not to make said otherwise. Living in a tent just sounded so… so feral. She could never do it, or at least not without reluctance.
Then again, what did she know. She vaguely agreed with an “I guess it’s not impossible.”But as for uncomfortable…
She laughed. “Honestly? Small doesn’t quite cover it. It’s cute, though, and is still home to the best chowder I’ve ever tasted. I bet more people would stop by if they knew how good the food was.”
ahuda laughs as well. "it certainly would help business." she's heard her mother complain many times at how often juturna was overlooked for the rest of the forest. that never bothered her, though.
she shivers as a cold wind blows by, reminding her of her still-wet clothes. "do you have somewhere to crash, or somewhere you stashed spare clothes?" she herself has a rented hotel room, but she doesn't know about tiff. it'd be best to ask, she decides.
“Umm…” Tiffany hadn’t thought about any of that at all. It was a bit embarrassing. “I usually stay at the Pokemon Centre. Do you think they’d have a dryer I could use? Otherwise…” Then she gasped. How could she not have thought about it before? Such blasphemy not to. “I could go shopping~”
Aah, it had been so long since she had stepped foot in a pretty clothing st—oh wait. She couldn’t just walk into one sopping wet. Tiffany looked out at the ocean, more embarrassed than before, and added, “Erm, I guess I’ll just ask about the dryer.”
ahuda doesn't like shopping, because she's always pressed into buying things she doesn't want nor need. "the pokemon center should have one, though a lot of other people will be using it, i'm sure."
she sighs, and before she can regret it, she offers. "do you wanna come over to my hotel room? it'll be more quiet, and the hotel dryer will be faster." not to mention that they wouldn't get underfoot of any nurses working at the center, and it was always good helping out fellow rangers, right?
Tiffany’s face fell a little. She hadn’t imagined that a dryer would be in such demand. “No way. Seriously?” That sucked! How was she supposed to dry her clothes now? Tiff let out an exasperated sigh and looked at Mo.
…maybe he could possess something and—no, no. That would probably end badly. Not probably, surely.
Thankfully, the other ranger came to the rescue again. Tiffany perked up. “Really? You won’t mind?” And before Ahuda even has a chance to answer, Tiffany let out an excited sound and bounced over the ranger to give her a hug. “Thank you thank you thank—oh, uh, sorry.” Tiffany quickly let go and stepped away. “I forgot about the water.”
the hug is squelchy and cold, but ahuda awkwardly pats her on the back. she really doesn't know how to do these things, and she ignores the axew snickering. she'll get her revenge by not giving him chocolate later, anyway.
"it's fine," she says when the other ranger finally lets go, and gives her a smile instead of grimacing at the cold. "we'll dry it all off later anyway."
then she hauls herself from where her feet have rooted themselves to the docks, glancing at tiffany with wet shoes and socks squelching between her toes. "you got everything you need?"
When Tiffany sees the smile, she feels a wave of relief go through her. She’s done the accidental wet hug a few times before and the usual response was at least an “Ew.” It’s a nice change.
Even though had everything on her, Tiffany still looks around for anything she might have forgotten before looking back at Ahuda and smiling back. “Looks like it. Let’s go.”
