This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Nix found herself wandering through the forest with mimi at her side and her eyes staring down at the ground, she hadn't taken life well. She wasnt really an emotional person but she had gotten very attached to her pokemon in the time she had them and now losing them, even if she knew it had to be done, well it seemed to have broken her. Ickle was such a sweet little girl and only wanted the best for everyone, sure poko was stubborn and rude but she was a nice girl under it all too. And both of them were gone. Nix paused in her walking before her knees gave out and she dropped down, her partner moving to sit beside her as she sat on the ground with her head down. How did people get over this?
The Nuzleaf shared the young trainer’s pain, having also lost some Pokemon to the scourge menace. And now that the scourge presence had lessened considerably in this area, it too took to wandering and soon enough found itself crossing paths with the human and her Dratini.
Usually the Nuzleaf would be cautious, suspicious even, and prepare itself for a fight (because that’s the one thing humans liked to come to the rock for), but neither girl nor Dratini had blacked out eyes or had a horrible undead stench. They weren’t the enemy today.
When the girl dropped to the ground, it thought it odd and decided to approach her with a curious look, but even as it did so it kept a weary ear to the nearby sounds.
Nix pressed her head in to her hands and gave a weak sigh before a sound made her look up, was that a pokemon? She looked around before she noted a pokemon standing to the right of her and looking at her oddly, "er, hello?" she said in a soft voice that was clearly a little too close to tears. Sure, this should be when nix told mimi to move in and attack but she just didnt feel like it. enough pokemon had been hurt now, why add to it without reason
The Nuzleaf nodded its head in response to whatever the human said. If it wasn’t a greeting, then she had at least acknowledged the Nuzleaf’s presence. The human hadn’t sent her Pokemon out to attack and it relaxed a little. It took a few steps closer and, despite the obvious language barrier, tried to speak to her – something about what the girl was even doing out here.
“Nuzleaf nuz, nuzleaf?”
It was going to get dark soon, and with the dark came danger.
Nix could feel mimi moving around her feet as she sat on the ground and she kenw she should look up and do something about their new pokemon beside them but she just didnt want to, she didnt want to do much Though he seemed nice, the pokemon tried to say something to her and she looked over at it and sighed with a little smile. It had been so long since she had spoken to pokemon properly, well in their own words. "You wondering why im out here i bet, i just needed some time to think" she said with a little tilt of her head as she looked over the small pokemon, he seemed kind enough. Though she waondered in turn why he was here as well
The Nuzleaf tilted its head. The human may have answered its question, but it may have just as easily answered any other question it thought the Nuzleaf had asked. It turned its attention to the Dratini, having only noticed it for the first time. At least they could understand each other.
The Nuzleaf gesticulated as it said its warning to the Dratini. It’ll be dark soon. You’d better leave before it does. Your human doesn’t look ready for a fight.
As it spoke, the Nuzleaf’s ears picked up on the sounds of movement nearby. Some Pokemon ‘woke up’ early, and although their first thoughts would be to check that their area was free of scourge before they ventured out, they would soon pick up on the scent of a human and her Pokemon.
@nixnight would you/nix be up for a wild pokemon battle?
Nix watched as mimi turned her head to the little pokemon and nodded as he spoke, seemed they had worked out a way past just guessing what one of them was saying. "She can handle herself very well, shes just hurting. We lost two of out family to the other pokemon, she's taking it hard" mimi explained in a soft voice before she glanced back at her trainer, she knew nix was hurting. Even if the human was about to admit it in a hundred years, she was just so stubborn like that. Mimi noted the little stirrings in the trees and she looked around just as she noticed their company did too, she smiled at the thought of maybe getting in a battle. Nix needed a battle, some good honest work to focus herself
Occ - I'm always up for a battle, we could have this guy on our side for more fun
For a moment, the Nuzleaf considered what it was told and looked over the human again. She was on the ground – was the Dratini sure that she could handle herself? Still, the Nuzleaf didn’t ask that, and instead expressed sympathy. I understand. It is… not an easy thing to bare.
While that was true, the different wild Pokemon reacted differently to the pain. Most of them acted negatively, and a few especially so around humans. Those few believed that the humans had somethign to do with the scourge--no, they knew it, and the humans were no friends to those few.
Such was the thought of a recently evolved Liepard who had caught the scent of an unwelcome human and had quickly hunted it down. It jumped out of the bushes and hissed at the intruders before launching into an attack.
Nix looked up to see mimi glacing around and nix lifted her head herself, the little grass type was talking to her pokemon still which did make her a little happier. Mimi was good with other pokemon, though that sent a pang of pain through her system as she thought of ickle and her little freinds but she didnt have time for pity. She heard the noise of a pokemon moving through the forest and turned to see a large one more towards mimi and her freind and nix's mind snapped in to action. "Dodge mimi, counter with thunder wave" she snapped quickly and she saw mimi tail flick out and knock back the other pokemon, right in to nix's waiting grip she hoped. This did land her a fury swipe on her side but their freind could be safe if ne stayed back with nix who was trying to reach out to keep him close to her while the pokemon battle, though mimi did avoid the growl sent at her before she sent her own moves in reply
GROWL MISSED FURY SWIPES HIT MIMI USED THUNDER WAVE
Occ - actually, i just seen mimi needs levels to catch up....might need to be selfish - dizzy
Well that was a relief. The human seemed to snap right out of her gloom and got back to acting like most trainers who came here do. The Nuzleaf would have felt relieved if he had the time for it – before he knew it he was pushed back into the trainer. It frowned at the Dratini, not appreciating being knocked back like that. Still, the action had made it all too clear that she wanted this fight for herself.
The Liepard bared its teeth at the Dratini, the definite opponent. Having its mind set firmly on the battle in front of it, it didn’t think too much about anything. All that mattered was to act and react. And speaking of reactions, it leapt to the side, avoiding the electric attack, and launched into a counter.
Nix watched as mimi was knocked back by the other pokemon as it seemed to avoid her own attack and she frowned, this was so annoying! However the moment came when the torment hit her and she growl softly, now she had no choice. She needed to cause pain! Nix however was standing with the smaller pokemon behind her knees and she glanced back at it, hopefully their actions would have kept him from getting battled back. Well it seemed mimi wasnt having any of this and she flicked herself around and shot her own attack back at the other pokemon, time to win this!
The sharp ears of the Liepard picked up the trainer’s growl. Hah. How odd. It flashed a Cheshire grin at both the trainer and the Dratini, a grin that wasn’t anywhere near friendly. It made to leap out of the way of the new attack.
Except getting out of the way of a Twister was not an easy task. The Liepard was sucked into it and thrown against a tree. It let out a yelp of pain and came back more determined to do damage.
Nix nodded as she saw mimi attack hit and she nodded, that would land her hits each turned on from this which would be helpful. Or that was what she thought atleast, hopefully she was right. Either way mimi managed to used dragon pulse in return of a growl that came at her, another dodge but ok then. Though the scratch still hit her, atleast she was doing better now
SCRATCH HIT TORMENT RUNNING - 2/5 GROWL MISSED MIMI USED DRAGON PULSE
Occ - I figured only one since you used torment but ok - dizzy
The Liepard was angry. It was even more determined to do some damage, and with that determination came little thought to its own safety. It didn’t see the Dragon Pulse that hit it square in the face.
Ouch. The Liepard was very weak now, but despite that it still pushed itself to keep going. Albeit weakly.
Nix could see the other Pokemon wobbling on its legs and she nodded happily, mimi seemed to note the move and shifted forwards to attack again only to be knocked back by the pokemon pursuit! Mimi winced and then took a breath before she flicked herself out again and tried to wrap herself around the other pokemon, she knew she couldnt use her better move again but she wasnt about to give in now!
