This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

yveltal had handily provided batin with a phantom force illusion, but in truth he was here because it had been a long, long time since he got to sample alleged haute cusine food and then ruthlessly critique it. that was the problem with quitting your day job to become a revolutionary/wanted criminal/mass murderer. you had to give up the little things.
he watched the revolving eos carousel on the dance floor spin round and round in glittering circles with mild interest. it was like a "who's who" of people he'd fought, all decked out in their finest apparel and drinking overrated wine.
TMOU5G5l < 50 phantom force looks like himself, minus burn > 51 - 60 looks like j 61 - 75 looks like his father 76 - 100 looks like a random, nondescript young man.
it wasn't hard to spot one person out of many. iskander swept an eye across the many different faces at the gala, storing them away in his memory for future usage, before locating one man in particular. the gala seemed like a big deal for most eos fighters, but it was open to everyone, and so, the agents had decided to invite themselves to it.
batin probably had other agendas in mind, though. iskander sipped his glass of champagne, glad to be out of the house for once. while he was alright with the idea of being cooped up in the library (be it the one in his home or the one in the land), he liked the idea of having fresh air once in a while. hence, the barbecues, but cameron had probably gone off gallivanting with rapture in search of bulgogi or something.
iskander shrugged. high society wasn't really his cup of tea, even if it was in the eltanin blood. he simply chose not to partake in it most of the time, and the family name had gradually fallen with time. "i don't particularly enjoy it," he told batin, glancing at the crowd dressed and crowned to perfection, "it's not really my cup of tea. i'd rather read a book -- or go on adventure somewhere, anywhere."
people spoke in hushed tones and soothing music from the live orchestra filtered through the ambience. it was all very cultured and elegant -- no one expected any less from lady mercedes, of course.
"i'm supposed to like this, though. ten years ago, or something."
"you can find adventure almost anywhere," batin said into his wineglass wistfully. but even he wasn't foolish enough to try and find an adventure in the middle of an eos gala, surrounded by some of the most important and powerful people in the region. not yet, at least. maybe after a bottle or two of the overrated wine. besides, there was still iskander's secret identity to think of.
"if you were expected to like these, i suppose you had to endure quite a few such events in the past. my condolences." batin had witnessed them, from the edges, but food critics weren't star-studded members of society, and he'd quite liked it that way. "would you like a dance?" he asked, half-joking.
"as a child, yes," said iskander, "a little too many times. often i had to represent my family while they were off on some great chase. it was a lot of pressure, but in recent times i've learnt to just ignore it. there's no point in keeping the eltanin name afloat nowadays." the man watched the crowd and contemplated the idea of a dance.
he exhaled.
"maybe," he said, "but we're not supposed to be out in the crowd. too many influential people there; they'd want to talk, and i don't feel like dealing with them. it comes with the family name." he sipped his champagne, but his eye was still on them.
