"O-oh yeah?" Regina countered, slightly turning her back to him. Her fingers curled like a witch's around her lab coat's pale green sleeves. "Prove it, J." She really bet he had something like a cloyster on his back. She was beginning to see a face like his in her memories, suspicion rewriting the obscure past, and she would not relent until she knew for sure.

"If your in Eos, it's something that ought to be disclosed."

"fuck off," J said, and turned to leave.

[cold volume]

"I knew it!" She shouted and threw her pokeball at his back. It was aimed to bounce off and release the elekid for a fight. "No, you better tell me I swear. This is bigger than just your sense of pride at having something vaccinated!"

J glanced over his shoulder; something dead lurked in his eyes, and thanatos pounded on his chest, yelling to be let out. the elekid popped out of its pokéball, and the trainer watched it get ready to fight him. the trainer had no intention to fight any more, especially against a person as unreasonable as regina was.

he was inches away from forcing regina against crates and punching her until she bled and was crushed; he never liked pretty faces, and even moreso when they drove the thanatos in his heart ablaze with excitement.

"you have a vaccinated pokémon too. are you fucking telling me your pride doesn't have something to do with this, interrogating someone as if you're the princess of the mafia and everyone is subject to your whims and fancies?"

his eyes were dark, dreadful, dead. J was not a man who forgave, nor did he have the ability to see reason when thanatos awoke.

"good-bye, princess," he mouthed, smiling a smile that did not reach his emotionless eyes, and he left her behind to simmer with her elekid.

Regina huffed and puffed like the big bad wolf. The badger was unleashed with its hard little teeth and ferocious eyes. He was definitely something. The sharpness in his eyes, the rotten mouth, and oh god did he really just call her a mafia princess? Who the hell was he?? A terrible and desperate curiosity bit her heart, and own pert mouth lashed back at him after his farewell.

"Listen, I don't know who you are but--" the Elekid that had popped out wasn't fairing too well. He'd collapsed onto his bottom, fell asleep. "Hey! Get up! Hey now! This is an important moment!" By the time she'd managed to pull the kid together, the mystery man was gone.
