This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

the woman waved frantically for another drink, immensely pleased. "more, more!" it was brought to her, and she shoved it in J's face. "more!" delilah had no idea what her objective was, but everything seemed a thousand times more hilarious when she could barely stand without -- whoops why is the room spinning and why is the ground suddenly very close to her face --
J watched the glass go down with delilah and saw it break into a thousand pieces. he supposed that he was lucky that the glass didn't really crash on top of delilah's head; it'd fallen somewhere nearer to him before delilah crumpled to the ground, and then broke.
the bartender muttered something about drunks and moved to sweep up the broken glass. he was irritated, but forced himself to keep calm -- they were customers, they were still paying money, and not enough people passed through decima to warrant throwing them out. they were assets to the business, not a liability.
J bent down to delilah's level, and brushed the hair out of her face. "delacroix?"
she heard J's voice beside her ear, and delilah mumbled something that sounded incredibly like "mgdfhgagshgsgsdt!!!" before grabbing on to him and peeling her face off of the ground. "my nose fucking hurts."
she reached over, taking his nose between her fingers and squeezing it. "like that, but more!!" delilah sniffled again. "my nose fucking hurts." did she already say that?
the woman squeezed her eyes shut. "owowowowowow!" she kept her hand on J's nose for a short while longer before pulling back, rubbing her own face. "J. that was mean." she stuck out her tongue. "mean!"
J had to resist the urge to pull delilah's tongue; that was rather mean, because it was unwarranted and sort of bad to drag someone's tongue out as if they were a dog. "c'mon," he said, lifting her up to her feet with ease due to his strength, and tried to get her on his back.
