J nodded. "it's better than a desk job at eos headquarters," he said. he couldn't imagine himself sitting in a cramped cubicle, signing documents and typing up official letters from eos to applicants on whether their application was approved or rejected.

he wondered why neo apologized, but decided to not prod further. "i'll set up camp," J said, glancing out at the lake. it would be nice to camp there without scourge pokémon trying to interfere, or things like the plague getting in the way of thinking. "start a fire, cook something."

by now, they'd worked together so many times it became second nature as to who did out in the great outdoors. neo would patrol the perimeter of camp, while J set things up. it always worked, never backfired, was infinitely better than neo cooking both of them ramen while J walked around with a lairon guard.
