This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

"we're both too old for pinky promises," iskander said, as if cameron had not been staring at him. "we're not boys and girls anymore." he prodded the meat, frowning slightly.
"i'm just making sure you're not going to forget our date here every friday, okay? don't get mad at me."
iskander quietly ate his food and placed the plate on the stump as he looked at cameron. he watched her, his quiet expression focused on the other agent.
iskander kept his head tilted. cameron had been fascinating a moment ago, right now -- not so much. the agent lowered his gaze and then averted it completely. he had a sneaking feeling that a punch was coming his way soon.
it were times like those when she wanted to shake iskander; how was she supposed to know what he was thinking if he didn't tell her? she narrowed her eyes. "what."
iskander trembled in his shoes, before forcing his gaze to meet cameron's. he forced himself to walk over to her, fists tightly clenched, before wrapping his arms around cameron's body in a hug. or at least, as well as iskander could give a hug.
she stiffened at the sudden contact; this was not what she was used to, this was not what she was comfortable with, this was wrong. no one was allowed to be this close -- no one was allowed to touch her.
all she could manage was a strangled-sounding "okay."
cameron had thought that this was a moment to be kind (if she could truly understand what it meant) and compassionate (or whatever it was people said) -- that was why she had allowed iskander to come so close.
yet she could feel his laughter against her chest, and cameron's usually flat voice turned into something sharper. "what."
this was becoming distinctly uncomfortable, and cameron didn't want to become angry at iskander -- he was just being his odd self. she had kept a good enough check on her temper until then, after all.
cameron none-too-gently pushed him away and walked to rapture's side.
