the grass sticks to his shoes like glue in this after-rain time period. the fields are marshy and the water from the pond is slightly flooding- just a few feet higher than usual. elias prefers this place dry- that way his feet don't make any noise against the grass- but he's not here to run. make all the sound you want. he commands himself, trying to keep an eye on every direction possible. sure, this was what he had signed up for, but he didn't want any surprise attack.
he was here to fight today. elias had made a choice, to run away from home and enroll in the eos program. and that meant he'd have to fight some hades-infected pokemon sooner or later. he and his pokemon have grown into this role, and now they're finally going to do it. so he waits. waits for one to come along, so he can prove his worth.

she glances around at the once-beautiful park. memories, unbidden and unwelcome, flash through her mind; she sees herself chasing after her older brother, calling for him to slow down and giggling as she tackles him to the ground. (she sees her younger brother chasing after them, turning them all into a wriggling pile of flailing limbs and shrieking laughter.)
now, all she can hear is silence, the kind that hangs heavy in the air and threatens to suffocate any caught in it. ever since the scourge arrived, there were no more playing children in the park -- those foolish enough to do so learned quickly after their friends never returned.
the mud squelches beneath the soles of her boots, and delilah spots figures off in the distance. her hand travels to her pokeballs, eyes narrowing in suspicion -- when she recognizes the boy (for better or for worse). "elias." delilah's expression remains hard, without a trace of her usual humor. "what are you doing here?" this place is dangerous.
There is nothing wrong with Pal Park. This is what happens when the weak link finally splinters. Decay is inevitable for those who cannot keep up with the pace of the new world, the pace of the Scourge. It is all quite beautiful and in order before Aaron's eyes.
Byte doesn't have the same appreciation for Pal Park. The Pokémon knows nothing, save for whatever its encrypting commanded it to do. It has no real opinions on the ruined landscape of the field. The Pokémon hovers by a man in a business suit, trembling, as if consumed with anticipation. Aaron had yet to figure out what this gesture truly meant. He'd already tried hacking into the Pokémon's database, only to find that the Hades virus had managed to corrupt the data there too.
"... you should get cleaned up," the man muses to the Pokémon, noticing the browned blood on the tip of the Pokémon's beak. Byte's limbs spun in place as it whirred in response, drooping visibly. "Don't give me that look. It was just a suggestion." The Porygon-Z reminded him more of an eager Growlithe than a piece of corrupted data. Aaron tried hard not to think of what this told others about him.
The Porygon-Z twitches and zooms off as Aaron closes the laptop lid, slipping it into his briefcase. Out comes a simple, white mask.
The mud is soft as his feet sink into its surface. He is followed by more squelching of feet, not his own, nor the Porygon's, but a familiar electric Pokémon with an unfamiliar, ravenous expression. "Suppertime's that way," the man says. The Ampharos' eyes widen, suddenly rushing headlong towards the pair of Eos trainers. The Porygon-Z chirps, buzzes, and chases after the Ampharos.

since the agents had first become active, sophia had assumed all along that their existence would be discovered eventually. it's kind of hard not to notice when humans are commanding a fierce scourge with a penchant for flesh. she had just been hoping that the first ones wouldn't be the eos trainers. well, a few of their number had taken care of that concern. not that sophia had been without her full-face helmet since week one of patrol. it was a black one, fit for bikers and rogue agents alike. sophia had taken no chances, and the long hair that the girls back home had admired so much was tied back into a bun under her helmet. if not for her figure, then it might have even been difficult to tell if she was a woman at all.
fantine settles beside her, having already fed previously. she is a clean eater, something that sophia can appreciate. make no mistake, they are heading out for war. they don't need distractions such as an unsatisfied appetite.
how vulgular, she thinks as the porygon-z dashes off. she gives no voice to these thoughts - that's what the froslass is for.

blitz saw the cotton spore and took it for the misdreavus- the cotton latched on to her body and she became much more slow-moving. the arcanine kept her feet moving, sending a super effective FLAMETHROWER at the froslass. opening her mouth, the flames burst forth, crackling and attempting to singe the ice type's skin with heat. but blitz's plans are foiled with a terrible bellyache, caused by the poison sign that had struck her. she couldn't last very long in this battle while poisoned.
gemma couldn't help blitz- the ghost was busy herself. she DODGED the taunt, sending a MEAN LOOK at the froslass is retaliation.
both took the icy wind, and misdreavus was hit terribly with the ominous wind. elias coughed. "what does it look like i'm doing?" she sees the ampharos coming, and her hand automatically pulls a pokeball off of her belt. a single ampharos -- it wouldn't be too bad, right? (until she sees the two humans and their scourge pokemon approaching, the distinctive coloration confirming her fears.) she dodges the sudden wave of electricity headed her way, sending the spheres into the air.
three pokemon materialize in front of her, and delilah waves them forward -- first to go will be the froslass, she decides, and two of them rush the pokemon as if it was practiced.
the houndoom howls, his voice echoing through the area, before spewing a barrage of fire at the ladylike pokemon. naberius's expression is contorted into a vicious sneer, and bael quickly follows suit. the lucario focuses on the ghost type, allowing his moves to hit her, and sends a ball of spiraling blue aura at her.
leraje, on the other hand, is not quite as energetic as the other two; instead, the lapras merely fires a powerful jet of water at the ampharos, her eyes glowing a deep red in an attempt to disorient the pokemon.
"... well, this is interesting."

The Ampharos shrieks and sidesteps the Lapras' Confuse Ray. Despite the common stereotypes of Scourge being mindless flesh-eaters, the electric Pokémon knew a thing or two about fighting. Its entire body sparked with electricity before unleashing a bolt of weak electricity at the Lucario. He hisses, swinging his long tail to and fro. It glints like metal before slamming into Gemma. It doesn't stop to take a breath, to take a break, bouncing over to the Arcanine to smash its sparking fist into the canine Pokémon's body. Rather, it doesn't seem to be able to stop, not with the fury of the fight singing in its veins.
The Porygon-Z, on the other hand, doesn't seem to know what to do with itself, when suddenly its limbs jerk about and it hits Delilah's Lucario with a spectrum beam. The psychic energy morphs within a split second into a controlled beam of electricity with all intents on smacking the water/ice type with enough energy to fry it. Byte chuckles to himself, though all that comes out is a high-frequency crackling sound as it lobbed a web of sticky threads at the Lucario too. The silk cracked with electricity as they sailed through the sky, Byte's body suddenly seeming to move even faster than before.
A strong wind blasts at the Houndoom, a slightly delayed reaction really. Aaron frowns behind his mask, wondering if his styler is jammed.

the froslass pulls away from the arcanine with a singed kimono, but she dodges the houndoom's flame easily.
sophia forces herself to remain still as the aura sphere catches fantine unawares. they don't fight many foes with foresight, and the shock of being hit with something so foreign sends the froslass into a reactionary state. she charges into the offender with a wake up slap before using a captivate to seal him off. for the houndoom, she sends a confuse ray.
the agent knows that she can't be of much help as a simple medical student with more knowledge of biology than what would be of help here. she does know that she can help as a ranger of sorts. despite her misgivings, sophia draws a ho-oh sign, willing the divine flames to clear their path to survival.
(how ironic it is, that the same flames that had taken her parents might offer them a chance at victory)

elias is quite oblivious to the situation at hand. his pokemon are really fighting by themselves, based on intuition. their trainer's eyes are shut tight- this is absolutely terrifying. it's only when he opens them that he sees two people, commanding scourge pokemon of their own. wait, scourge pokemon commanded by trainers? "what are you two doing?!"
meanwhile blitz rummages through her trainer's bag and finds an OLD GATEAU. she happily gobbles it up, and immediately her poisoning begins to fade. normally the sticky treat would take a bit of time to eat, but the canine pokemon tries out a ATTACK BOOST CRUNCH, aimed at the froslass. super effective. the arcanine really does think well on her feet. the happy thoughts are interrupted by the thunderpunch, which shocks blitz straight.
gemma tries a CONFUSE RAY, sent to the ampharos as she takes the iron tail. it hurts, but the ghost stays in the air, gracefully looping around the scourge electric type to send another HEX towards the froslass. (arcanine is cured of poison, uses an attack boost crunch on froslass, and is hit with thunderpunch. misdreavus uses confuse ray on ampharos, is hit by iron tail, and uses hex on froslass) tuyetZULF ?toska

clusterfuck is likely the best word to describe what is happening. she shoots a nasty glare at elias, whose eyes are screwed shut, but turns her attention back on her pokemon.

Scourge Pokémon don't let up until they or their food is as good as gone. So the Ampharos sends a second bolt of electricity at the Lucario, roaring in frustration as it swings sparking fist at the Lapras. The red orb on its forehead sparkles, briefly, before unleashing a nasty ray of bizarre, rock energy at the Arcanine.
Byte can keep this up all day long. His body sparks with electricity as it lobs sticky threads at the Arcanine. Its body levitates off the ground, before shooting more electricity at the pesky Lapras.
The Ampharos and Porygon-Z aren't the only ones in the fray. Aaron is contributing just as much as any other Pokémon.

maybe it wasn't very kind of sophia to draw a uxie sign for froslass, which takes the form of endure. no, it isn't very kind of her at all to watch her fall into the fangs and fires of her enemies, but that was the pact that she had made with fantine all those months ago: they weren't going to be doing very kind things. maybe it was cruel of her to allow the match to continue, but she knows that the worse alternative is to deny fantine the chance to fight for her existence. as long as eos exists, she doesn't have her pride.
they press on.

Its fists are sparking again as it lets loose more electricity from its body, like a maddened taser, then sets about to trying to punch Delilah's Lapras in the nose. The red orb on its forehead glows again, shooting a beam of light in the Houndoom's direction. Its entire body glows, blindingly, as the Pokémon still manages to keep kicking.
Byte's body glows a light blue as it no longer bats a lash to ice attacks. The Lapras is going to have to try a little harder.
Meanwhile, Aaron busies himself with drawing a third sign. A protective force shields the Froslass from impending attacks.
