after the last conversation with neo, karimi decided to take some time off from fighting the scourge. it wasn't as if she didn't believe that all her scourge data would be of no help to the war effort. the problem was making others believe it too, believe that they could win.
karimi even takes to inspecting the walls of the ruin, but to no avail. the writing makes little sense to her, a girl who was better versed in pokemon ecology than ancient systems of writing. maybe she should have brought neo along after all. she had always been the bookish one, but it wasn't likely that she had the time to spare. not when the researchers were so understaffed.

the alia karimi of a year ago might have smiled and asked if she were lost. asked to accompany this young woman out of this place. today, the first thought that comes to karimi's mind is that nobody who needed protection would be wandering somnus ruins alone. it was an area that the scourge had not touched, but the wild pokemon were still forminable.
"i...i'm karimi. i'm an eos researcher, and i'm here to find something for kohaku." exactly what, she can't even say. "something, anything." there was always going to be a shortage on vaccines, a shortage on battle-ready pokemon, but the worst shortage was the derth of belief.
