This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

ignatius was not a nature person. ignatius was not lost.
it helped to have a good mental gps. he rarely found himself losing all sense of direction. it had only happened once in his life, when he travelled to a foreign region, and even then, that was because he was completely new to the place.
ignatius watched the girl with a serperior pass by where he was for the fourth time in half an hour. she seemed lost, but it was rude to ask.
Thalia hates the wriggling trees, oh yes she does, precious.
She watched him scan her serperior.
"I suppose I should take out the rest of my pokemon," she said. "So they can learn how to get out of here as well, in case you're not around next time."
(umbreon, alakazam, blastoise, ninetales, jolteon all good?)
Thalia took out umbreon, blastoise, ninetales, jolteon and mienshao. They crowded about her before she ordered them into some semblance of an organized mob. The forest was getting rather crowded.
the venusaur stayed close to ignatius while the flygon led the umbreon, blastoise and mienshao. it was better to split up into smaller teams, because walking around in a group of ten was extremely loud in the forest.
ignatius scanned all the pokémon. he was still useless on the researcher skills bit, though.
"this way."
he headed towards a tree, and pointed at it. "see how the bark shines red?" he said, "red bark means you're going deeper into the forest."
