The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

one of the things that physis missed about fantine was her cleanliness with consuming her meals. phillip tries. he really does, but it's still a little messy when he's trying to force half a girafarig down his throat.
the froslass didn't eat nearly so much, either. physis supposes that it doesn't make much of a difference when she's frequenting scourge warzones all the time. there's plenty of scraps to go around. the live ones tend to scourgify too fast, and the mamoswine wasn't exactly a big proponent of cannibalism.
physis decides to wait a messor rock. maybe a meal will run right into them.
J had learnt a thing or two about fighting scourge pokémon during his stint in kohaku: it was always better to fight scourge than it is to fight gym leaders or elite four members. that alone was very readily apparent in his life. he trudged into ceres, apex by his side. the doublade glanced around with its four eyes, and slashed the air violently upon detecting scourge.

the mamoswine snorts. for all his newfound talents in fine dining, he still took about as much pleasure in biting into a hunk of metal as any other scourge. edible, but in the way that a brick of fruitcake was edible.
physis is a little more guarded. phillip didn't remember j, but she certainly did.

a mamoswine. why did this agent have a different pokémon this time? it didn't matter though, not that it did in the first place. perhaps this was a clone of a favorite pokémon long dead, J thought. his doublade swerved out of the way of a burn and into a cluster of mud, but emerged from it gleaming with the light of a technique.
all of J's pokémon are pretty inedible if you think about it. even the empoleon's not really food.

J hadn't seen that before, but he was certain that he was going to see it again. the rampaging mamoswine was something to behold, even if it was ... slightly comical, considering the environment it was splashing about in. his pokémon were relatively unfazed; wing was enraged and struck again.
