he glanced up when his brother pulled away, not understanding why he did what he did. he just watched, and stared at the pinky finger for a while. he didn't know why, but he felt like making the promise would be a sort of great undertaking; the point of never going back -- something along those lines. he didn't really know how to put it into words.

all the same, he reached out and locked his finger around his brother's, and nodded. "promise," he murmured, still keeping their fingers twined together.

just like how the stars in a constellation were tied together by an invisible string, they were tied together by a promise and also fate.

alex couldn't breathe. he ruffled ismael's hair, and turned back to looking at the stars.

he would cling to this dream until his body refused to stay asleep any longer.
