it was a risky choice, but whatever thoughts ikram had about trying it out were stopped when she heard that they were in scourgehaven proper. the ranger held her breath, and stared straight at batin.

"why are we in scourgehaven?" said ikram, more to herself than to the older man.

why had she been seeing scourgehaven in her dreams, year after year? that seemed like more of a pressing question than trying to kill herself in the name of finding out the answer to something.

she had been staring at scourgehaven and had wanted to go there. now she was here, mentally replacing the phrase 'land of red skies' with 'scourgehaven' in her mind, and feeling disgusted with herself for wanting to do such a thing.
