In a sojourn cabin, somewhere, Micah mumbled about tchotchkes in his sleep.
What he perceived had nothing to do with tchotchkes, however. More so, he was away from some nondescript cabin, and instead, running long distance with his larvitar. The dreamy racetrack materialized out of ambitious thoughts. The two circled the small circuit thrice before collapsing on the ground. They laughed between wheezes.
It happened suddenly. Shadowy figures, built with the stuff of nightmares, popped up like diglets around them. The terrain changed from tarmac to grassy plain without cause. Dreams were shifty like that. Sitting up, the teen took hold of his pokémon and squeezed like a little child would their teddiursa doll.
“Sandstorm.” He whispered into the larvitar’s ear. The golden critter raised its tiny hands like a shaman. It summoned a sandstorm which both obscured the figures and tore them to shreds. Micah and Mustapha hugged peacefully in the eye of the storm.
“Thanks.

They trudged forth within a desert that seemed unending. This sandy treadmill did not forgive. Mustapha yelped in protest but his trainer would not hear it. Micah was too engrossed with the reaches of his imagination. The boy was covered head to toe in cloths that blocked the sandstorm debris. His larvitar was clearly unfazed by these winds; this was his habitat, not Micah’s. Still the constant walking was unbearable. What the breeder wished to discover was the unknown riches within the dreamscape’s sands.
They ventured inside a cavern that dug itself into the ground. They kept traveling down a slanted corridor until Micah’s garb was no longer needed. The getup vanished and was replaced by business-casual wear. It reached freezing temperatures which neither of them was prepared for. This was when the shadows reemerged. Mustapha bum-rushed one but the shade flicked away before any impact. This happened again and again until Micah put a stop to it.
“Listen, we need to work together.” said the breeder whose nerves were uneasy. Any second now and this scene could form a surreal nightmare. “Bite that one.” Micah said while pointing. The larvitar followed the command, then another, then another. Soon, the breeder and his partner were alone in that cave. Unfortunately, they had to again walk forth in an unchanging backdrop. Soon, however, they could see a light at the end of the tunnel. They began running towards it.
The boy and his larvitar found themselves yawning awake inside a Proserpina trolley.
