Archie's father, Maxwell, a pediatrician and obvious alcoholic, had been planning on making a move to Bacchus. The family had been there a few times, and Archie and his mother really enjoyed it, so his father made the decision to pick up and move. Archie was excited, ecstatic, even. He needed a new start, and he wasn't going to find anything in Nerio, but his happiness was interrupted by a sudden change of plans. In fact, they had their house sold in Nerio and were literally packing up the car when they heard about the horrific tragedies of Bacchus. Things changed. Instead, they moved to Juno. Archer's mother had convinced his father to move somewhere that they could survive, as well as thrive, in. Juno was full of protection, and so Maxwell picked up his practice and off they went, buying a modest house in the city. It was then that Archer decided to become a trainer. Before, he'd always wanted to, but Nerio was full of crime, and the want-to-be trainer had no desire to have his Pokemon stolen.
