personality
? Daunt- cause to lose courage; "dashed by the refusal"
Pan isn't really the strongest of heart. She quickly loses hope in things she deems lost, and isn't one that will quickly cheer up again once things take a turn for the good. Once she considers something hopeless, it will remain that way, even though there might still be a chance at victory. She may deem a fight hopeless and still win.. But she will never accept it.
? Chickenhearted- easily frightened; cowardly
As easily intimidated as she is, Pan runs for the hills when something scares her... Which is basically all the time. Hiding behind her pokémon is her preferred way of reacting to those kind of situations. However, when something triggers her inner bad-ass, ignites her inner passion, Pan will crawl out of her shell and stand up to her demons. But those occasions are scarce to say the least..
? Shy- lacking confidence in the presence of others, especially strangers; not wanting to attract attention
Pan's unable to look anyone in the eyes, her head is always turned towards the ground, only ever looking up when speaking to her closest friends or poképartners. It takes a miracle for Pan to speak out in public at all.
? Insecure- unsure of oneself or lacking confidence
Never certain of her skills, Pan never reaches her full potential, as she is continually scared of failing. As doubtful and insecure as she is, she's missed out on some great things in her life. Always in need of a push, Pan relies on her pokémon partners for those comforting smiles.
? Artistic- conforming to the standards of art; satisfying aesthetic requirements
Always trying to find new ways of looking at things, Pan sees the world in an entirely different way. She always tries to come up with unconventional ways to do things. This is probably the only reason why she wants to be a coordinator, because it allows her to work with pokémon in an artistic manner.
? Intelligent- having good understanding or a high mental capacity; quick to comprehend, as persons or animals
Being her insecure and shy self, Pan spent a lot of time in the comfort of her room, reading and studying about anything and everything. She would never become street-wise by any means, but she definitely compensated that by her vast knowledge of 'everything'.
history
Born as the youngest of three, Pan's life was quite easy to say the least. With an older brother to protect her and an older sister to give her advice, Pan never had to worry about a thing, there was always someone with her. But no matter how good life was for little Pan inside the walls of her family estate, her life wasn’t nearly as easy in the real world.
The girl was only eight years old when her parents sent her off to an exclusive boarding school in Johto. Barely old enough to sleep without her mommy, Pan was sent away out of her comfort zone, away from her siblings with no one to support her.
Her father had once been a very successful trainer and wished for all of his children to walk on that same path. Both her brother and her sister had went to that school as well and both of them ended up at the top of their year, it seemed as if her family was full of amazing trainers. But soon, very soon, Pan'd find out that the talent for training that her siblings had wasn’t passed on to her. In the very first days of her arrival, Pan struggled to make friends. She was shy and alone, didn’t dare to go and speak with other kids. Being the little, fragile thing that she’s always been, teachers overlooked her, not noticing the quiet little girl that was crying in a corner. Life would continue to be miserable for Pan. She was doing so bad in class that teachers were already thinking of sending her back home, deeming her unfit to ever become a trainer. She showed no skill whatsoever and didn’t seem to be able to follow the rest of the kids in her year. Teachers feared that the gap in skill between her and the other students would get so great that she wouldn’t be able to ever graduate.
Not wanting to let her father down, Pan struggled through the first year which was basically only the initiation year, she ended up being on the very bottom of her year, having barely enough points to go up.
The second year was always looked at as being the most crucial year of their entire education. On the very first day of the second year, every student received a partner Pokémon, chosen for them by their parents. The entire year was about making the soon-to-be trainers grow a bond with their new partners.
Anxious and unsure if she'd be able to take care of that little being, Pan spent the entire night wondering on what was the best thing for her to do. As all the kids went to the great hall to collect their own pokémon, Pan packed her bags and got on a train home. She had thoroughly thought about this and felt that she wasn't ready yet for that pokémon and also came to the conclusion that even at such a young age, her life wasn't going the way she wanted it too.
Once home, she told her mother and father what happened, hoping they'd understand and not send her back. Her father, however, was not the passionate man she remembered him as. He was obviously dissapointed in his young daughter for not stepping in his footsteps. He gave her a choice. She'd either have to go back or go and live with her aunt in the Kohaku Region. Even though she despised her aunt, she made her choice and with the still unpacked suitcase that she had brought with her from boarding train, she once again got on a train towards the Mors Desert, a place of rules and tradition.
This is where Pan grew up, forced to study about pokémon and battling in the hope that one day, she'd become a trainer. Pan, however, had other intentions. She had secretely been reading up on the Hades virus and felt the urge to help pokémons, not use them to gain fame.. One day, she'd become a ranger.
From the moment that Pan had decided on that, life became much easier. She became much more interested in what her aunt taught her about pokémon, as knowledge was power. She was keen on learning everything there was to know about those creatures, in the hope that she'd one day be able to protect them all.
