This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

It stared. It stared as one eye slowly drifted away yet the other stayed fixed on its new trainer. Courtney balanced her cheek on her hand, elbow keeping it up on the surface of the rounded café tabletop while she gazed back. Wingulls cawed overhead; ready to strike down on the unsuspecting diners in the array of seaside restaurants, including the one that Courtney was sat outside. Yet….the Smoochum still stared, perched on the tabletop.
It was a bit…. off…. She had bought it in a market with the last of her money. Courtney had always wanted a Jynx, her only little person to dress up and put lipstick on, but with this THING it was unlikely.
She began to tear up, she was alone, broke; with nothing but a Bulbasaur and a creepy Smoochum to aid her! Mascara tears ran down her face, stinging, no, more than stinging. Acid. Dark blue streaks that no matter how much she rubbed with her wrists, always burnt.
Her cries grew louder, wails that began to turn heads before she yanked up her body and ran off. Within minutes she was on all fours, weeping into the beaches perfect sand.
I can't find you,* If only I could see your face! Instead of rushing towards the skyline, I wish that I could just be brave. I must become a lion-hearted girl, ready for a fight, before I make the final sacrifice ---------------------------
Terra has been talking walks a lot recently, especially with her pokemon. She'd treat them today, because why not? They've been polite and clever in training, and so she walks with them all next to her. Titania (chingling) floats around her head, smile abroad the little bell's face. Eteocles is to her right, sucking his little Teddiursa paws for the honey that he stores on them. And Nycteus is happily attached to her metal bracelet through magnetism. The beldum nuzzles it's trainer happily, while a red eye scans the surroundings for any possible danger.
A green haired girl sees Courtney and immediately stands taller, face stern and slightly frustrated. This was a beach, not a place for crying. Was this woman going to ruin her pokemon's day? Terra approaches her and taps her shoulder, trying to get her attention. "Hey. Stop crying. It's a beach. And it's public." She orders plainly, as her pokemon follow her. Eteocles bends down to see the girl's face and immediately runs in front of the woman, dancing a merry jig. That was Eteocles for you, trying to cheer everyone up all the time.
There was an awkward pause as she stopped crying, putting both hands into the sand, now tinged an almost poisonous blue beneath. A few seconds later, out of breath and crying it’s name, as Pokemon do, came the Smoochum who had obviously been running after its trainer. The currently unnamed little pink Pokemon spent a few seconds panting on the sand, holding an arm up as if to say timeout to anyone who might do something; before running up Courtney’s back and onto her head.
The weight caused her head to slump just a little lower as the Smoochum positioned itself as to not fall my accident. Without hesitation it looked Terra directly in the eyes…well eye, with one eye drifting away. It’s mouth slightly agape and a distant stare directly at the human opposite it. Smoochum closed its lips, lifted its arms up and if Smoochum’s could talk, which they can’t, it would’ve said:
I can't find you,* If only I could see your face! Instead of rushing towards the skyline, I wish that I could just be brave. I must become a lion-hearted girl, ready for a fight, before I make the final sacrifice ---------------------------
Eteocles begs to be addressed and watched, and is still desperately trying to cheer up this stranger. He goes from a merry irish jig to the robot to the sprinkler, dancing each one as happily as possible. The Teddiursa stops when he sees the Smoochum, and waddles up to her, hands resting on his hips. He reads her eyes and replies with the pokemon language. "You're trainer is crying." And he points, frustrated that the Smoochum wasn't already aware of this. His lips curl into a frown as he continues. We were trying to get her to stop.
Terra catches the Smoochum's stare, but doesn't challenge it. The girl instead curls to meet the woman at the eye, and scolds her again, this time a little more gently. "Seriously, stop it...Look what you did to the sand." And she straightens, standing herself up once more. By now, all three of her pokemon have ganged up against the Smoochum. "Why'd you let your trainer run off crying?" Titania, the chingling, asks harshly. Nycteus doesn't say anything but a reprimanding "Bad," and Eteocles finishes it off with a "You have to be better than that!" Of course, Terra only hears them blabbering their names.
She knows what's going on though. With a snap, she holds out her arm, and the Teddiursa and Chingling slip behind her, whilst the Beldum is immediately attracted back to her arm with a magnet.
“I have nothing left! I’ve got nowhere to stay, I’m alone with nothing but this messed up Pokemon who I bought with the last of my money!”
She cried in anguish, her head still bowed and her eyes tightly shut to keep out the mascara venom. Whether the Smoochum understood what she had said or simply did not listen was unclear, as it ran up to the Chingling and immediately slammed the other Pokemon.
“Look! It’s like a toddler with issues! I always wanted one but I got a broken one! All I have is it and my bag of-“
Courtney immediately bolted her head up, hardly able to see with the muck around her eyes, scanning for the monstrous pink suitcase that had followed her everywhere so far. Then it clicked. She had left it back at the restaurant that was now far away…a fresh well of tears began to flow.
“WAHHHHHHHAAHAHHH!!!!”
Her crying was now booming and painful to listen to, but it would not stop.
