This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

this was an impossibility. clouds weren't solid in the real world. they were water. they were cold. this wasn't. everything around him was a dream. this false world provided useful things. pokemon. an area to train. items he could bring to the real world.
he looked to the next cloud on the path, taking careful steps to each one. the last thing he needed to do was fall back to the ground in a false world like this. behind fleance, the blind pokemon followed diligently, fighting to keep up despite its inability to see. he paid no notice to the dragon, unwittingly taking paths that made it more difficult for them to follow.

Oh wayward one, riding the skies, leek by your side. The air was yours, and you would always be crossing the divide, a feathery Magellan. Forever migrating in this dreamscape, throwing yourself through the dusty clouds, you never thought you come'd across a man. Many of your flying breathen had kissed your vegetable in this world, and he shall too.
You burst from the cloud and took a strike, bearing down like a single drop of rain.
He felt the sharp cut against his raised arm. Red dripped down his sleeve. His gaze narrowed, and his teeth clenched unwittingly. It was strange how the dream world worked. There were things many things impossible in the real world, yet many things of the real world that applied to this false one.
Resonance could smell his trainer's blood in the air and ran towards him, luckily missing any gaps between the clouds. He might not have been able to see where his attacker was, but he could smell them. Energy gathered before the pokemon's mouth, and Fleance knew just what to use. "Dragon Rage."

With singed feathers, you fell from the skies, imagining your home, your nest. It all came back to you and gave you the strength to carry on. (roost)
In a grand effort, you swooped up, and took a broad turn. Regal as a fighter pilot, you eyes closed against the buffeting wind. This was a new day. Leafy lance in wing, you opened your mallard's beak and returned his rage.
Farfetch'd used mirror move. Farfetch'd used dragon rage.
The dragon's rage did not end with a simple attack. He required retribution for the assault against his trainer. They'd drawn blood. He could smell it. A grim smile took the pokemon's figure as they smelled the burned feathers. They desired more.
"Don't just stand there!" Fleance shouted at the dragon before running at it as the mirror move took its effect. The attack would have taken him out completely if he hadn't tackled the dragon away from it. (Dodge)
Resonance squirmed beneath his grasp. Electric gathered at his mouth as he found his way out of his trainer's grip, running straight for the bird once more. (Thunder Fang)

What was this beast? You, knight of the sky, have perhaps met your match. The sizzling sparks of its teeth could defeat you in a single touch. Tread lightly, for this could be the end of you. You squawked with indignant self-righteousness, thwacking your leek against the earth.
Farfetch'd dodged thunder fang. Farfetch'd used sand attack.
resonance prepared another bite, using his sense of smell to track down the vile bird. then there was sand. he fell back, choking on the sand the clouded his senses. just where had sand come from in the skies? (failed bite)
"calm down." fleance ordered. there was no point in panicking, and it seemed that the trainer's strong words took effect. resonance struggled, but he tried to keep his composure. "good. now focus." (focus energy)

It was a cheap move, perhaps -- blinding your opponent with dust. But that was the world - if you didn't fight dirty, they would beat you to the chase. Time to lower your cards and shove all the coins onto the table.
unable to identify where the bird was, resonance had to wait. "keep calm," fleance ordered once more and the deino was inclined to agree. he kept his stance, waiting. the other would attack him. he knew they would. the reverse world forsaken bird was not going to give up so easily. it had been the first to strike after all.
once, twice, three times, the leek struck. "now!" he'd winced under the blows, but it was alright. he would push on with fangs of electricity. (hit, countered w/thunder fang)

You quaked hurriedly as you leaped out of the way. This was a dangerous dance, and the thunderstorm of a mouth could make your little life even more meager. You thwacked the ground again with your sword, kicking up the earth as your kind knew how.
Far'fetched dodged thunder fang. Far'fetched used sand attack.
fangs caught nothing but the air where they'd been. "move back." and he did. he could feel the sand move to his side, not striking him in the face this time around. his mouth twisted into a snarl. they weren't going to be let go so easily.

The dragon rage seized you, the fire of its teeth ripping him from the sky. So this would be how it ended? You were falling, and the ground loomed closer as did your doom. You, the journeyman, now buried from the sky.
+2 lvls note: throw a pokeball if you want it ;o mikey
resonance grins at the smell of charred feathers, the sound of the soft tud against the pillows that was the ground and makes his way towards his attacker. he isn't cruel enough to attack once more, but he does press a paw against the bird's chest. he isn't aware of the pokeball flying past, hitting the fallen bird.
