The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Thalia's mouth was still sticky from the last of the ginseng candy, even though it had been gone by a mile back, her feet were still sore from the walk, and she was actively going to fight another one-two punch of the scourge on purpose, but she was strangely ebullient.
"me?" J said, crunching the last of his ginseng candy. "i'm not sure." he glanced around bellona hills. hadn't been too long since a donphan and jynx fell to their combined efforts, so he couldn't say he was excited to bring down other scourge, nor was he looking forward to the haul that was a tough fight.
The garbodor was a plague creature, and the granbull was its... nothing, really. It wasn't a parasite because the garbodor paid it no mind, but it wasn't symbiotic, because the garbodor didn't need it.
The garbodor trundled along, spreading toxic spikes as it went while the granbull attacked the local wildlife and occasionally rocks and poles too. It just liked biting things. One could argue that the garbodor was the smarter of the two, but there was no real evidence to back up such a statement.

"I guess I am excited," Thalia answered slowly. "That seems kind of sick, but I guess I am."
The garbador seemed to come across them almost by accident; better than being actively hunted, Thalia supposed. The toxic spikes were easy enough to avoid for her, but--ah, well.
The garbodor said something. It sounded like a cross between a garbage dumpster and a yowling raccoon. If its words were directed to the granbull, the granbull didn't seem to hear. In turn, the garbodor didn't seem to care.
The granbull gnashed its teeth at the vaccinated pokemon. The garbodor simply trundled even closer, not seeming like it cared that anything--not even two trainers and their pokemon--lay in its path.
that was a lot to process in a while, and J watched the attacks fly across the field in rapid succession. thalia's team had been sent out. he supposed it was time to decide his next course of action.
