This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Anyway i was just looking at the egg shop and mystery eggs are pretty expensive considering they're like 90% going to be a common or even a duplicate.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have a common egg for like $500, the egg type ones still at what they are since its more refined and then rare eggs for a higher price?
I like the idea of splitting rares and commons apart when it comes to eggs, but will that mean we have rares running around left and right? (Also as an aside, I think it's actually better to breed commons than rares?)
tbh i think the breeder's eggs are fine as they are; otherwise, there'd be an egg surplus because more people can't afford it, and pulling up the prices just means those with more pokemon (re: later-game characters) can still afford more than those who actually need the eggs.
tbh rare pokemon will probably continue to be rare b/c of the difficulty of breeding them? and if there's still too many rares, limit how often they can be bred or just use the banned/overpopulated list.
I think six days for breeding is fine. It's hardly any different from seven, although I suppose it spites researchers who are on a five day cycle for breeding (not that any researcher really breeds to a schedule).
There's the option of just limiting how many eggs you can buy per week. It worked for preventing people from nabbing all the swarms. Unlike swarms though, I don't think it'd be hugely effective? If we limit it dramatically enough that people will reconsider buying a ton of eggs, we have the problem of our ginormous egg surplus. If we limit it slightly, it still favors the more experienced people who want/need a specific pokemon rather than newbies who need to fill out a party in general.
A rather bizarro but imo feasible solution is to give some sort of "time machine" item out, say 3 to a trainer and 6 to a breeder when they start (none to researchers and rangers). All it'd do is let people receive for free an egg that had been in the egg shop at any point this current month. We could also sell time machines in the pokemart for the same price as a mystery egg.
why, again, is egg-buying an issue? wasn't it just the prices?
not too fond of the time machine, btw. if overhauling the prices doesn't work, then we'll figure something else out.
at the same time, i'm in a position where i don't need to buy new eggs except if they're fossils or steel-types i don't have. most of the time i see newer/slower members buying the eggs, with the exception of older members springing on rares like food in a cage of starved lions.
imo. old members, please don't buy popular pokémon eggs unless there are leftovers that no newb wants yet. let it sit for a day before making your purchase. new members, please don't buy two of each egg. you're going to get broke and end up wondering where all your money went.
at the same time, I just remembered that a similar issue was brought up in the staff room as well. if possible, could it be moved out into the open so everyone can peruse it?
