This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Xillian had finally reached Proserpina City! It was a pretty nice city, his first time ever being there. It had a similar vibe to Sol City, without the ominous feeling of darkness, but all in all, Xillion was pretty comfortable here. The sun was almost setting, so the sunset looked beautiful with a light breeze to even make the mood even nicer. He had decided to name Joltik, Shock Tarts, and he had received another Pokemon, Psyduck, which he named Curry for it's short tempered, feisty, attitude from his assistant, Jo. He was very grateful for his luck. He decided he better not test it out first on the Gym Leader, so he decided to do some more sightseeing instead. The Magnolia Docks was a great first place for him to check out. He just got a old rod from a nice fisherman nearby, but he decided not to use it. He wondered what other kind of Pokemon lived around here, maybe he could catch a new one for his team.
The Pokemon scuttled across the dock at an alarming pace. Both pincers were raised above his head, waving and clacking away as he hurried toward the human who must have thought it was a good idea to invade the territory of The Crustacean Crew. Krabby would prove his worth to his gang this time. He'd teach them all that he was the baddest crab around. They owned this dock. Them humans could build themselves another.
Only one foot tall, the crab tried to look monstrous, blowing some very menacing bubbles at this intruder. "Kr-kr-kr!" he repeated, a clicking noise from the back of his throat.
Xillian stopped a few feet away from the Krabby, it looked like it had an attitude problem coming at him looking pretty scary. He didn't know why it was acting like this so he must have thought, it was just having a pretty bad day. Training probably would be best for now so he could get a better feel for battling, having only seen two Pokemon battles on the television twice before. He had researched quite a lot on his way to the city, reading different articles and tips. "Easy there, let's go Shock Tarts," Xillion put out a hand in front of him to kind of ease the Krabby a bit. He fumbled around his pockets for his starter Pokemon's pokeball and threw it out in the air. Shock Tarts emerged with a cheer being happy to be out of his home and landed facing the Krabby.
"Shock Tarts, use Spider Web and then Pin Missile!" Xillion ordered. The Joltik slowly realized the situation and went into action, sending out a large spider web from his mouth first, followed by long spiky pins. The size difference was pretty crazy between the Krabby and Joltik, and Xillion wondered if he chose the right starter Pokemon if he wanted to do damage.
Krabby began to panic when he realized that this man had a Pokemon. It was less than half of his size! What could go wrong? That was until it started to fire webs and missiles toward him. Krabby immediately tried to turn tail and run.
The web stuck to his feet, preventing him from running away now. His pincers clacked away in panic, trying to maneuver his body around, only to be stabbed in the face with several of the pin missiles fired his way. Now, the Krabby was just angry. He didn't just want this human off of the dock, he wanted him to stay gone.
Krabby used MUD SPORT on himself, to prevent the Joltik's electric type moves from doing quite as much damage. This was followed by a carefully aimed BUBBLE in the spider's direction.
Xillion cocked his head to the side, and wondered why Krabby used it on himself. He thought about it and finally realized, it tried to lessen the damage of Joltik's electric moves. Too bad for the Krabby, Joltik didn't have any damaging electric-type moves! The Bubbles were brilliantly aimed and hit the Joltik straight on, the Joltik was probably as confused and zoned out for a bit while he watched the Krabby use Mud Sport on itself. Lesson learned, to pay attention during battles. Shock Tarts had to pay for it, but it didn't hurt as much as he thought being a type advantage towards the Krabby. "Shake it off Shockie, use String Shot to slow it down and use Fury Cutter!" Xillion pointed at the angered Krabby, not being too phased by it's attitude. The Joltik shot super sticky string out of it's mouth flying towards Krabby, and it ran full speed, raising it's little claw, hoping to do some good damage.
Struggling, a couple of Krabby's legs broke free from the web. Enough that he could pivot his body, and narrowly DODGE the fury cutter that was battering at his tough shell of an exterior. But, she to the string shot that caught him, he was slowed down. The string got caught in his pincers. He was struggling to get it out, so that he could attack again. Not yet. The Krabby was glaring as he struggled and flailed free from the webby string. But no at the Joltik. His eyes were narrowed at the trainer who summoned the tik. All he had to do was leave, and they wouldn't have been in this situation. But now, they were.
The trainer stared right back into those beady Krabby eyes, now it really was crabby. Xillion giggled at the thought. Krabby wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Joltik probably would be able to take it down quite sooner than Xillion thought. It would be a little bit more mischievous of Xillion, but since this Krabby was getting angry so easily, which reminded him of his newly added teammate Psyduck, who also had a anger issue, Xillion decided to mess it with it some more. "Let's try scaring it Shock, use Screech, and try to gain some health by using Leech Life!" Xillian ordered and Shock Tarts made an ugly sound that he had never his starter Pokemon ever make. It didn't even seem like it came out from it's little body. And then it worked gaining health back from the slowed Krabby.
The screech was ear piercing. Krabby's eyes rolled back, his pincers covering where his ears would have been, if they were visible. He tried to block it out, but it was loud. It provoked him, a little. After having energy sapped right out of his body, Krabby let out an angry yelp. "Kr-kra!" The crab lunged forward with both pincers, trying out a VICE GRIP and hoping to crush that pesky bug for good, before it could do anymore damage.
Everything was going as planned and this battle seemed to be looking up for Xillion. He hoped all battles would come this easy, but he knew this was just a dream. He watched as both of his previous moves connected and he did a little cheer in his mind and waited for Krabby's counter. He looked a worried, it seemed as if Krabby now had a mission, and that was to get back at Xillion. "Dodge that Vicegrip!" Xillion reacted, it seemed like a pretty powerful move even though Joltik had a type advantage. Shock Tarts focused and wasn't going to get attacked this time and dodged to the left with amazing speed, also using it's small size to it's advantage. "Good job! Now use Fury Cutter on that Krabby!" As it repeated the same move in the same fashion as before but hoping to make connection this time with the Krabby.
The little claws battered and scratched at the Krabby's body. It tried to jerk back in retaliation. Due to the screech from earlier, he was still unable to use defensive attacks on his enemy, but he was still lashing out. He blew a flurry of BUBBLES at the Joltik. The Krabby was struggling against his opponent. It was a small size, but Krabby wasn't the strongest of his crew. He wanted to call them for help, but no matter which way he looked, they were nowhere to be fine. He was starting to panic.
The Joltik was blasted away from the Krabby, there was no way it could have dodged or defended that attack at such close range. Shock Tarts flipped over on the concrete and struggled to get back on its feet, but eventually did so. Xillion admired the Krabby for being so tough. "Alright Shock Tarts, you did good, now return," Xillion praised, taking out it's Pokeball and returning the electric type to rest. "Let's go with Sukiyaki!" Xillion chose and sent out the Elekid. The Elekid stared around taking in the situation, it felt kind of bummed that it was still in Proserpina City, he wanted adventure but a regular battle would have to do for now. "Use Thundershock," Xillion ordered and the Elekid sent shocks.
(OOC: What's the rule for switching out Pokemon, I couldn't find it, like do we just switch and end our turn? Or our we allowed to use a move? Cause if I can, I would like to use Thundershock against Krabby)
Before his very eyes, the Joltik vanished. But Krabby hadn't finished pummeling his opponent into the dock! Instead, a Pokemon closer to his size appeared and Krabby was confused by this- as well as a little worried. He should have expected a thundershock from a Pokemon so yellow. But, he hadn't. The electricity rattled within his shell, frying the Pokemon to the inside. Krabby's eyes rolled back and he dropped to the ground in a heap. He couldn't take the constant battering and abuse anymore. Still, he was breathing, even if he was in and out of consciousness.
((ooc: i believe you can attack right after you've switched, as long as the pokemon you're switching out didn't attack already. i'll pretend you used thundershock, if that's the case. just edit it into your post ;P))
Well, that was quick, was the thought that ran through Xillion's mind, but what did you expect from already battling on top of electric being a type advantage to Krabby, Xillion felt a little cruel. He did feel sorry. Sukiyaki stood there, with a feeling of is it already over too. He scratched his head and turned around looking back it's trainer. Xillion returned him to his Pokeball and congratulated him on a good job well done, along with Shock Tarts. Now, to catch the Krabby or not? He looked as the Krabby lay there dazed and confused. Would he make a good addition to Xillion's team? It had a lot of determination, which Xillion liked. In the end, Xillion decided not to catch it, it probably would enjoy the wild more than being on Xillion's team. Xillion nodded towards the Krabby and walked towards a different location to see what else would be in store for him.
