The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

the three scourge pokémon were lounging about in bellona hills, very much unaware of their surroundings. the creatures didn't really care about what had happened; they had heard that most of the scourge were leaving after being driven back by trainers. the three didn't care, though -- didn't mind, rather.
the ninetales preened itself as the honchkrow came to a rest beside it. the sandslash tunned about underfoot, hidden from view. a ring of stealth rock surrounded the area, protecting the three scourge pokémon from being assaulted.
so far, so good.

She'd already taken down three groups of scourge pokemon, and she was on a roll. So why stop there? Emily made sure to take a rest, get her pokemon healed up, and they were back out on the scene. But they weren't aware that a group of scourge pokemon was nearby...
It was going to come to this eventually, he knew. Everything from training to his fervent bursts in travelling led up to this. Yet now, he was having second thoughts, even with pokemon surrounding him, even though he was confident on the outside. Not having doubts on whether or not he could win - not that, never that - but rather, what would happen after he beat them, because he'd never encountered any of these creatures before (would they explode, try to bring him down with them?).
They saw him with pokemon and pushed him in the direction of the hills, eyes narrowed, words heavy and set in stone, though they veiled a hidden choice. And he expected to find many things - hills ablaze with flames, torn husks of creatures littering the ground while scourge rampaged around, chaos. Yet he was taken aback to find her there, and he spoke without thinking.

She was about to retaliate when a certain male suddenly appeared in the fray. Looking up at the familiar voice, Emily smiled and waved at Jayden. "Hi! Uhm...well, I'm fighting scourge! I think this is my third batch in the last week...Are you gonna help or not?" At this she winked, only to then turn back to the battle.

"Duh, I can see that." He rolled his eyes at her, digging into his pockets and surfacing with two dual-colored spheres, bursting in a glow of red one after the other. "I mean, what are you doing here, of all places? Looking for trouble?" Although from what he'd heard, this was her third time, so it wasn't anything new. And he told himself that she was going to get killed one day doing this kind of stuff, that this was absolutely the last time he'd run into her again, except she wouldn't, and it wouldn't be, not for a long, long time.
