history
Kyle Marlon grew up the eldest son among two younger sisters in a happy two-family cottage thrust upon the edge of a cliff over-looking the sea. His parents were both highly respected and dedicated Breeders and members of a humble country village on the outskirts of Sol City. Away from the tourism of the metropolis, Kyle grew up amidst the posh manners and snootiness of a very small, breeding-centric community. His family was skilled and rose to prominence, rivaling a family of trainers with the surname Rahal. The Rahals lived in the other apartment of the cottage, and they both hated each other. A stalemate for the estate ensued. Both refused to leave the residence because of its prestigious location.
His relationship with his sisters was mild and distant for the most part. He couldn't relate much too them, and spent most of his time hanging around the boys of the village pulling off Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn shenanigans.
Growing up, Kyle was a real asshole of a kid. He liked to show what he was made of, and he challenged the boy from the trainer's house nearly ever day to a duel with the Ursaring he was raising. Life was simpler back then. There was more laughter. Eventually, he fell in love too, and he began to lose interest in fighting with the Rahal boy all the time. Allie knew how to tie an invisible cord around his neck, and he was infatuated by her fierce and confident personality. Her laugh filled him with a powerful passion and easy security. All his other flirtations had hardly made sense compared to their chemistry. He'd made plans to marry her when the first news of the scourge reached Sol City.
The note said she had left to help her sister in Decima. Kyle held it in the rain, a Teddiursa dangling from one hand, while her mother apologized and sighed with a reluctant, worried smile. He returned home, where his parents whispered about the fought about a newspaper article announcing the scourge. Allie left him so quickly and without a word. She hadn't even asked him to follow! (He would have followed!) Despite her strong personality, he didn't believe she could take care of herself. Truly, a bitterness developed because of her sudden departure and he came to question her sincerity. Despite his normally carefree attitude, he suddenly found himself clutching rotten, hurt feelings, he only wished to forget.
Meanwhile, the Scourge spread over mountains and hills, taking over the land like a plague, and his parent had mad plans independently of the city's evacuation committee. They had resigned themselves, like the old nobility they were, to remain and fight for their home. Kyle was pulled into the endeavor, as were the other long-established residents of the little community. A garrison was built and all the community's pokemon collected into an rag-tag army.
Long story short, it was a bloody and gruesome mistake. Kyle's father was murdered by a Hades Agent and his mother went blind from a monster clefairy's flash. Some of the pokemon were turned, others eaten. At least, his sisters had been sent away before it all had transgressed. Kyle's pokemon had been killed, the baby Teddiursa's two parents included, and he refused to let the bear fight as he carried his own mother to safety with the aid of a ranger.
Kyle Marlon arrived in Juno only to hear word that his (ex-?)fiance had preceded him. A deep longing, which had somewhat disappeared in the chaos of combat, returned. He became determined to be a part of the Eos program, put the scourge to rest, and find out what drove his father's murderer. As for his fiance, all he can do is build up his thoughts. His hurts have made him a quieter, more thoughtful man, and he hardly ever smiles when he is alone. His laugh is but the mask of his former self, which he clings to as one does their most golden memories.
TLDR;; He fell in love with a girl who left him to fight the scourge. His family remained in the Sol City area to fight the army of infected pokemon that soon claimed his hometown, a plan which ended in disaster. He now continues to Juno quite lost and broken, unsure how to combat the forces of this apocalypse.
