This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Sunlight burned against the fair skin Allie, marking her exposed with twice as many freckles at it normally had. Fiery red hair was swept upward in a high raised pony tail, sunglasses fit well on her slim face. A backpack slung over her shoulder, Allie kicked at the ground with her scuffed up shoes. It's been so long since she had seen Kyle that her heart hurt just thinking about him, withdrawing her wallet that now just had a few dollars, she took out a picture of the two of them, the one her dad took on the weeks prior to her leaving. She had been sitting on a log that had washed on the shore, Kyle had been in the sand looking up at her, it was easy to see the warm blush on her cheeks and his hands hold her's. The memory of that day and the knowledge of how strained they had become because of how she just left him made her feel guilty, but even if it gave her a heavy heart, she knew that the safety of her sister was important.
Eos had told her to go to Professor Cypress and get a pokemon in order to train and be able to take on scourge pokemon and hopefully find her sister. So now here she is, walking with worn down shoes shorts and a tank top, picture of her and Kyle in hand, thinking over all the ideas of where her sister could be, wondering if Kyle is mad at her or if he even loves her anymore, with a fake smile she pushed over the door to the lab, heading right to the counter without much ceremony or polite behavior.
As a girl pushed her way into the laboratory, she would see no one behind the counter. Instead there was a male in a white lab coat, laying underneath a nearby table. Why he was there was a mystery, and he didn't seem to hear the girl come in. Thankfully, his assistant did, and the tall Alakazam prodded the professor so he'd look up from his task.
"Ahh...H-hello!" Professor Cypress called out, moving to a standing position from the floor. He wiped dust from his coat before walking awkwardly toward the girl. "Are you...and Eos trainer?" @helica
Confused with the man on the floor, before she could stop herself, and not that she'd really try she blurted out her first words uttered. "Is there a reason you where hiding?" Allie's voice was kind but carried a certain tone that dug in for information, she was just naturally curious of tings like this.
"Yes I'm a new Eos trainer, I just wanted to come here for my pokemon, but seeing you like this has got me wondering if I'm in over my head." Allie's voice was light and carefree, even if she was in order her head she'd never dare tell him or give up, determination brought her here and blind faith in herself and her sister would see to it she reached an ending.
"Hiding? Me? N-no!" Cypress began, laughing awkwardly. He placed a hand behind his head, scratching a bit before coming to the girl.
His expression brightened when she said she was a Eos trainer, and his eyes turned to the Alakazam. "Bring out the subjects, please!" And with that, a group of pokemon entered the room, all looking up to the girl expectantly. "Choose your starter!"
Allie with a warm look in her eyes looked over all the pokemon set before her, the pretty Shinx and Mareep caught her eye. Kyle would be happy she was able to tell which pokemon were talented and tried her hardest not to think too much on the man she left behind. For a moment she paused and thought about taking up the Emolga it's dual type would be a great assist to her, not to mention it was cute. To matter how hard she tired she was a sucker for cute pokemon, that teddiursa that Kyle gave her was surely the reason she had a sweet spot for cute pokemon.
Looking up at the professor she picked up the Emolga's pokeball, clicking it open the electric flying type jumped out of the pokeball and gave off a playful noise before landing right in Allie's arms, harmless sparks coming off of his wings. "Em Emolga"<Nice to meet you> He had a a playful tone in his voice as Allie smiled and ruffled his ears, before looking to Professor Cypress. "He is coming with me won't you Volts" He smiled and playfully batted at her nose, Allie giggled thinking of how Kyle would laugh about how unoriginal her nicknames were but right now she had a new friend, someone to help her with her journey.
Cypress smiled, always proud of the bond starter pokemon had with their new trainers. "D-don't forget these!" he called, keeping the girl a moment more to give her some items.
