This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Xillion was definitely known as a thrill seeker, and what more thrills could you find at an abandoned warehouse! But he did need help from Sukiyaki, his Elekid, who was on the same level of thrill seeking as his trainer. Xillion had to admit that he was a little scared going into the warehouse, but it seemed fun and Sukiyaki felt the same way, but he did tend to stay closer than usual to his trainer. "We got to be careful here Sukiyaki, you don't know if you could fall through a hole or something, this place doesn't look that sturdy," Xillion warned patting his Elekid on the head for comfort. The Elekid nodded acknowledging the warning, watching where he placed his foot. Maybe this was a bad idea? But what real fun were good ideas?
the warehouse was overall in want for use. it didn't stop crates from continually being shifted in. neither did it stop the local pokémon from getting in and causing some trouble.
somewhere off to xillion's right, a fierce fight between a ratatta and a houndour had just ended. it had resulted in a victory for the latter. blood was still fresh on its fangs as it turned around, sniffing the air.
ooh, a human.

Sukiyaki stopped in it's tracked and tugged at Xillion's pants signaling to stop. It could hear noises, and it sounded like fighting and little whimpering. Xillion contemplated if he should go investigate or not, but the point was for some adventure, so he went into the investigate and anyone could see in the Elekid's eye that as much as he did not want to go, he had to. Xillion turned a corner just to see in time, a Houndour, who looked quite vicious. It's bloody mouth sent shivers down Xillion's and Sukiyaki's body. Xillion watched as the Houndour lifted it's nose in the air, sniffing for probably what was his next opponent or prey. As close as they were, he knew the Houndour would find him. He sent an encouraging grin to his Elekid and stepped out from the corner with Sukiyaki so the Houndour can see them. "Let's catch him off guard, Thundershock!" Xillion pointed, and Sukiyaki started winding up it's arms and sent yellow sparks from it's irregular shaped head towards the Houndour.
the houndour sniffed the air, before it smelt a pungent scent of something being charred by electricity. it soon realized that the pain it felt on its rump had a connection with the charred scent, and it whirled around, releasing a blast of fire spin at the trainer and his pokémon.
Xillion knew what he was getting him and Sukiyaki into. He wanted this fight. When the thundershock hit, he couldn't help but let out a small chuckle, but that was short lived when he saw flames in a circular motion flying straight for him. He quickly dived out of the way, "Use quick attack to dodge! Then use low kick," Xillion yelled, as he saw the crates behind him go up in flames. That could have been him. The Elekid used it's quick speed to dodge the fire spin, and used it to get close up towards the Houndour and gave a hard kicked.
the houndour immediately hopped over the elekid's incoming kick, and as it made its landing, it growled at sukiyaki. it then released a blast of fire spin once again, undeterred.
