This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Larsa doesn't really know where he is, but he's come to realize that this is a battle arena with fights that were very real. On the other hand, he cannot recall a time where he had stepped into the arena as a challenger and not as a fan in the stands. The first thing that runs through his head is what the hell am I going to do with level one Pokémon, but he figures, it has to be worth a shot. He's seen plenty of Magikarp and baby Pokémon beat up here.
He doesn't see why he can't try it either.
The man tosses a pair of Pokéballs into the air, revealing a golden Magikarp and a Ponyta whose mane and tail burned blue. Boromir immediately begins flopping about, a blank expression on his face as usual. Eowyn snorts and lays a hoof down firmly upon the Magikarp's tail to stop Boromir from flopping away.
Emily entered the dream world, ready to battle someone to level up her new pokemon friends that had recently hatched from their eggs. As she entered the arena, the girl giggled at the Ponyta who had a Magikarp underneath its hoof.
"Hello! I'm Emily!" she called out, throwing two pokeballs into the air.
The Nincada, no problem. Eowyn could take care of the bug Pokémon. Granted, she had no fire-type moves in her arsenal. It was the Squirtle he had a feeling that the Ponyta would have to look out for. Hopefully, it wouldn't know any water attacks either.
Well, here goes.
"Nice to meet you, Emily!" Larsa called from his side of the arena. "I, uh, hope I don't disappoint!" This was his first battle in a very long time. The last one had been --
He tried very hard not to think about it.
"Eowyn, start with a Growl and Tackle! Boromir -- uh, just do your thing, I guess."

"Nice to meet you! I don't think you'll disappoint! The idea of a battle here is to have fun and to learn!" Emily called out, smiling toward the male. "And I didn't get your name?"
All Larsa can do is hope that he remembers how to do this properly. He did not think that "fun" and "battling" belonged in the same sentence, especially not after Decima. But this was a dream, right? He could at least try.
"I'm Larsa," he calls out from the other side of the arena. "How about you? What's your name? I'd like to hear it too."
He frowns at Boromir, wondering if the Magikarp can do anything other than flail about. Then again, he's also aware that it isn't entirely the poor thing's fault.

She'd already called out her name, but she decided to give it again because he'd asked. "I'm Emily! Emily Thorne! Hey, when you wake up we should meet in person!" At the moment she couldn't recall where she was, however...
Eowyn whinnies and tosses her fiery mane as the Squirtle flopped over on its front. She stamped her hoofs and circled right around to face the Nincada. Boromir, on the other hand, was busy writhing in the Nincada's mandibles, slapping his fish tail against the bug Pokémon's face.
"Emily Thorne? Yeah, I'll remember that!" he calls back. "I think I'm still in my bed at home! I don't even have my starter Pokémon from Professor Cypress yet!"
Didn't even have his starter? Then how did he have these pokemon he was fighting with? A confused look fell over Emily's face, but she shrugged it off. "I think I'm in Nerio...But maybe we can meet when you get out of Juno!"
you go glen coco dodged tackle! used another bug bite on magikarp ya dig ZULF ?
It was a long story. Larsa had fished up Boromir one day, for it appeared that someone had abandoned the baby Magikarp shortly after it was hatched. A pity, too. Boromir had such nice scales. As for Eowyn, he'd fed the Ponyta foal a couple of berries, and afterwards, the Pokémon had been attached to his side.
"Nerio's far away... Not so far from Decima though!" Without any context, Larsa didn't make much sense.
The Nincada took the tackle with pride, but soon fell over fast asleep. Emily laughed at the bug's antics and recalled him to his pokeball. "Great battle! I hope to see you in person sometime soon!" And with that she left, waving goodbye to Larsa and his Ponyta.
