This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Boromir still flails about, and Eowyn still steps on the poor creature's tail so he wouldn't splash away. Not much has changed since the last time that Larsa paid the Battle Arena a visit. It's a good thing too, considering that Boromir had kept the experience that he gained after the dream.
Tough love was what Larsa and Eowyn gave the Magikarp. That was all.
The Battle Arena is a strange place, but it seems as if her pokemon are having fun. The two ralts walk through the area, hand in hand, until they come across two other pokemon.

Zara walks up behind the two unconscious ralts, munching on an apple. "What just happened?"
It was quite ironic that Zara, of all people, would provide an uneventful battle.
"... I think your Ralts just committed a double suicide," Larsa comments, raising a brow. Eowyn looks equally as confused, and Boromir proceeds to continue flopping about.
The Eos trainer bends down and scoops up the two Ralts, then hands the Pokémon to his sister. "That apple looks good," he comments.
Then it hits him.
"Zara! Of course! You'd be eating here too!" he exclaims. "Zara, is this the first time that I've seen you since last year? Wow, you've gotten taller! I mean, you're still a shrimp, so I'm still a lot taller than you. Heh, I don't think you'll ever be taller than me, will you? You were shorter than Arza and Raza last time I saw you too." He's as excited as a little kid in a candy shop.
She stares blankly at Larsa, allowing the ko'd ralts to fall to the ground once more. How is she supposed to carry them while eating an apple, huh? Huh?
He goes on and on and on and on, and all Zara can say is "No." It's her apple, after all. He can't have any of it.
Zara fumbles around with the pokeballs with one of her hands, returning the two ralts -- and accidentally releasing her wailmer and snubbull. "Oh." Oops.

Larsa shades his eyes from the bizarre sunlight the Battle Arena has cast within it. "Whoa, a Wailmer! And a Snubbull!" Both Pokémon, Larsa has seen both in the past. It doesn't matter to him. Every Pokémon is unique in the blue-haired man's eyes. The Snubbull's growling is pretty endearing, and he has half the mind to pick it up.
He decides against it though.
Eowyn snorts and tosses her head at the sight of the Wailmer and Snubbull. A fight is a fight, then. She returns the Snubbull's frowning growl with a growl of her own, then charged forward at the Snubbull, only to find that her legs won't move.
Meanwhile, Boromir splashes uselessly with the Wailmer and tries very hard not to get crushed.

Boromir attempts to get out of the way of the bouncing baby bumbling Wailmer. Arceus, what a clumsy Pokémon. The Magikarp would be back for him someday.
Eowyn, meanwhile, shrieks a bit as the Snubbull pulls an ugly face at her. The Pokémon's spindly legs tremble as she tries to run forward, but all fails. Instead, she flails her fiery tail at the Snubbull.
"Hey, that's not very nice," Larsa says to the Snubbull, wagging a finger at the pink Pokémon.

The Magikarp flops around a bit, shuddering at the sight of the Snubbull. He does manage to flop out of the way of the Thunder Fang though, lucky bastard. Eowyn, feeling a new surge of confidence, begins to charge at the Snubbull. Perhaps, if she is lucky, this will be the fourth Pokémon that she can knock aside.

Boromir squirms as the Snubbull chomps down on him. The pink Pokémon is still a baby though, and the Magikarp manages to flop his way back to Eowyn after getting bitten. The Ponyta stomps her hoofs before going in with another attack.
