This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Larsa steered Eowyn away from another low-hanging branch. It was quite troublesome to keep the Ponyta away from flammable objects (which did take some effort, considering that her mane and tail were liable to catch anything on fire). She was still rather young and quite enjoyed poking her snout into everything that twitched. On the other hand, the fire-type Pokémon had also shown a considerable amount of maturity. "Come on, Eowyn," Larsa cajoled. The Ponyta snorted, for she wouldn't have any of her trainer's sweet-talking, but continued to trot along anyways.
The Ponyta, oddly enough, had grown inseparable from Boromir. A Ponyta and a Magikarp made a curious duo indeed. She'd been a little upset that she was not allowed to carry the Pokémon around in her mouth. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that both Pokémon were about the same age. It wouldn't have mattered so much had neither of them been rather young.
Eventually, Larsa caved, and released the Magikarp. Eowyn was content to carry the fish Pokémon in her mouth by his tail.
it was a strange sight to see a ponyta trotting about while carrying a magikarp in its mouth. the creature spied on the duo from the treetops, squinting down at the licks of flames that slipped in and out of view. it moved forth, before stopping.
damn, too much effort. the creature reclined on the branches as the trio down on land moved onwards. ughh. it dragged itself forward, barely managing to keep the rest in view.
it stifled a yawn. effort was so hard to make.
:slakoth: lv7 truant scratch, yawn, encore + snore
Protip number one about being the very best that ever was: beat up whatever came your way. Besides, the Slakoth wasn't actually real was it?
Such was the rationale that Larsa used as he tipped his head back to examine the sloth Pokémon.
Eowyn halted in her gait, pawed at the soil, then tossed the flailing Boromir up in the Slakoth's direction. She would win this fight, not only for Larsa, but also to show Boromir that she wasn't nearly as painfully boring he seemed to say she was. All the Magikarp did was splash about. Boromir wouldn't play with her, even if she asked him to.
slakoth yawned. it dragged itself about for a while and watched the magikarp reach a lower branch. this was interesting, if only it wasn't ... so ... sleepy ...
it clapped at the display as the magikarp haplessly fell downwards.
Larsa rubbed at a temple. Awesome, now the damn Magikarp was stuck in a tree. He sighed, shook his head at Eowyn (who was looking very sorry now), and began to climb up the tree. His knees gripped the trunk as he pulled his body up.
Eowyn snorted. How dare the Slakoth not come down to meet her. She isn't too thrilled about that, so she begins to Tackle the tree in hopes of having the Slakoth fall from its branch.
Unfortunately, all she gets at the moment is an irritated Larsa, who clings for dear life to the tree.
Boromir flails about, splashing in nonexistent water. It jounces the tree's limbs, though oddly enough, the Magikarp doesn't seem to splash quite enough to fall out of the tree.
Larsa and Eowyn don't seem to like it when Boromir splashes about. Granted, Eowyn is often incredibly amused by the Magikarp's actions, but she never seems to approve of them, so when the Slakoth begins to clap enthusiastically, Boromir swells with confidence. He splashes even harder now, nearly shaking the entire tree.
Larsa tumbled to the bottom of the tree, landing on his back. He groaned in pain as Eowyn trotted over to nuzzle him with a concerned expression. Perhaps, at least, the Magikarp's vigorous flailing would cause the Slakoth to fall out of the tree as well.
the slakoth's grip was strong on the tree's branches. not even the strongest gust could sweep it off the tree; a magikarp certainly wasn't about to thwart it.
wow. this sure felt comfortable. like being swayed in a basket ...
Yawns were incredibly contagious. Eowyn blinked, whinnied, and began to yawn herself. She wasn't sure what had gotten into her, and in an attempt to wake herself up more, she began to Tackle the tree again.
Boromir still thought it was a great idea to keep splashing about.
Larsa, on the other hand, was busy groaning at both of his Pokémon. "Okay, you," the man said, rubbing his palms together again. "You're coming down here, okay?" And with that, he began to climb the tree again, until he'd finally made it to the thick tree branch where the Slakoth swayed from to and fro.
Instead of trying to shake the Slakoth off its branch though, Larsa managed to grab the splashing Boromir and, with a well-aimed arm, threw the Magikarp at the Slakoth.
the slakoth, in a surprising display of agility, dodged the magikarp. it then reached out to scratch larsa across the face. the magikarp probably hit another tree behind them.
excited at the turn of events, the slakoth shook the tree even more vigorously.
Larsa yelled as the Slakoth raked its claws against his face. He didn't yell louder than the ruckus that Boromir was making though. The Magikarp seemed to have calmed down from its splashing frenzy, but its actions had sent a whole flock of Starly into the sky.
"Well, this isn't exactly going according to plan," Larsa mused to himself.
Meanwhile, Eowyn had begun to snooze under the tree.
It appeared that humans were not immune to Slakoth's yawning either. Larsa yawned too and rubbed an eye. Suddenly, he was feeling awfully tired. "Th-that's not fair," he scowled, before getting interrupted by yawns again.
Boromir floundered about on the ground. The Magikarp manages to make its way over to Eowyn and proceeds to smack the Ponyta across her face.
But Eowyn continues to sleep beneath the tree, peacefully.
the slakoth wished it could encore larsa's fall, because that had definitely been sloth-comedy gold. it watched the human fall to the ground next to his sleeping ponyta.
