This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

the scratch involved the zorua climbing up a stack of crates with admirable agility and strength. the scraggy tried to escape, but the crates only fell down from its neatly-piled state. trapped on the ground, it was assaulted by sharp claws as your zorua attacked its face once again.
bleeding from its cuts from the scratch and fury swipes, the scraggy staggered to its feet and glared at ventrix, before passing out.
I watched intently as the crates fell with the wild Scraggy atop. As they collapsed to the ground, I knew Zorua would take advantage of the situation. When Zorua had finished his attack, the pair of us stood back to watch what move the Scraggy would make next.
It rose to its feet, and then proceeded to drop back onto the ground. It seemed Zorua had been too much for him. My heart sank a little with relief after watching him fall. I had won my first wild pokemon battle with Zorua. It was now time to claim the prize. I threw a single pokeball out to the passed out Scraggy, hoping to catch it once it landed.
It was a new day. Pollux and Eric slowly made their way back into the abandoned warehouse. The trainer had thought that the name 'Ventrix' was simply too draconian for his little pet; opting with the alternative, 'Eric', as a far more suitable name. It was something that the little Zorua would have to get used to.
The pair of them had returned, of course, in hopes to train on some more wild pokemon before attempting to challenge the gym leader of Proserpina. The pair of them eagerly waited for something to show, and hoped that they could find a suitable pokemon to join the team.
the warehouse was ready for more battles. it wasn't about to collapse, no. as you entered the musty environment, you were greeted by the sight of a blitzle nudging around some crates in the hopes of finding something to eat. it had been pretty hungry these few days. finding a way out of the warehouse was not an option; still new on its feet, the crates had proved to be a formidable maze for the zebra pokémon.
hungry, it plodded about the warehouse and nosed some crates, before accidentally bumping into you. it fell over with a surprised squeak, but it was apparent from its demeanor that it wasn't up for a battle.
Both trainer and companion eagerly waited for a wild pokemon to show. Suddenly, their prayers had been granted. A wild Blitzle appeared.
It did not seem to notice them however. It was apparent that the wild pokemon was more engrossed in trying to find something. It continued to sniff around on the floor as both Pollux and Eric remained silent, until finally it bumped into the pair of them. As it suddenly edged back, Pollux became aware that the wild pokemon offered little harm.
Unfortunately, he did have to train his Zorua and thus this Blitzle would indeed be met with a battle on this day.
"Eric! It doesn't seem to be ready for an attack. Get it!" Pollux shouted to his companion as the Zorua readied himself. He then leaped ahead, attempting to scratch the wild horse. The battle was on.
