This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Fingers to her lips, Embla let out a long and sharp whistle that wrung through the forest. She thought, maybe, Abbadon would hear it and come running. But there was still no sign of him.
She spun on her heels, peering up at the man behind her through her eyelashes. She cocked a thin and curious eyebrow, lips pursing together and forming a little smirk. "Well, Samuel? You claim to have the big brain. But do you have the explorer skills to locate my lost kitten?" Embla chuckled. She had reached out to tug on his sleeve. "Here's your chance to be the hero! Help the damsel find her lost friend."
Embla was sounding less and less worried. Whatever evils lurked in these woods, she was sure Abbadon could handle.
It's refreshing to see how carefree Embla is. Perhaps this was better; perhaps forgetting was better. Still, Aaron is a selfish man and yearns for the researcher to remember anyways.
Unfortunately for Embla, Aaron had very little experience in field work. The most he had gotten was tracking down Byte. Still, he's a quick learner and notices that there are scattered feathers on the grass. "He must be nearby," Aaron replies, playing along with the woman's game. "It is that, or there has been something that's scared all the bird Pokémon away anyways." He doesn't see any tufts of black or yellow fur that the cheeky Shinx may have left behind. Abbadon couldn't have gone too far though.
He raises a brow at Embla at her chosen words. "Damsel in distress?" he mused. "I have never heard you describe yourself in such a manner before." It's easy to forget that he is not Aaron Sideris, but instead, Samuel Haynes.
It was true that Embla was no damsel. She had spent nights in harsh desert weathers and faced off against the rock and ground Pokemon that inhabited them. The researcher could handle herself in a measly forest, especially while knowing that her Shinx couldn't be too far. But she had to give this man some sort of sense of heroism, didn't she? Didn't men like to prove their bravery and masculinity?
Embla had chuckled at her own thoughts as she swept her arms behind her, clasping her fingers together and nodding forward along the dirt path. "Well, you wouldn't have. If I recall, I haven't had to describe myself to you before this moment," the woman winked.
Now, in a new terrain, she had reached down to unclip the heels from her shoes, storing them inside of her bag. If there was danger out here, she didn't want to be the girl caught in a pair of stiletto.
"Well, Mr. Detective, do you see any clues that point to my kitten's whereabouts? Maybe some paw prints," she suggested. With only a moment passing, the women had crouched to the ground, fingers running through the dirt and grass.
The path was so overused- being so close to Prosperina- that any print she found could have belonged to anyone. She was oblivious to the movement around her. Embla's shoulders and guard had been dropped, relaxed by the forest scenery.
Aaron blinked, for it wasn't often that he slipped with his aliases. "I suppose you are correct," the man said, quickly composing himself again. He made a mental reminder to ask Embla to introduce herself a little more. He hoped that asking Embla about herself would trigger something in her memory. He imagined that she would have made a wonderful actress and an excellent liar, but there was something a little too genuine about the way that she was teasing him.
If it had been anybody else, Aaron would have left by now.
A faint beeping noise attracts the man's attention. He would recognize those mechanical noises from anywhere. Aaron's brow furrowed as he concentrated hard. Memory loss was a funny business. It was difficult for him to predict how the Eos researcher would react to seeing a Scourge Pokémon up-close. If things got ugly, he'd be able to escape with a quick sign. Now that he thought about it, there was not much that could go wrong.
"Byte, you're there, aren't you?" the man called. Aaron was answered by a second set of beeping noises as the Porygon-Z popped out of the bushes. The Pokémon hovered before Aaron before whizzing curiously around Embla. "Byte, calm down," the man said, before adding, "Have you seen a Shinx pass by this way?"
Byte was too busy observing Embla, nudging the woman curiously with his beak. There was a smudge on his head from his previous meal.
