This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

To become the strongest... was the thought that roamed the narrow minded teens head as he walked towards the lab. Did he care about anyone else at the moment? No all he was trying to do was become the best, and this place had called on him. Why they did it he didn't know, but they had, and well he was going to show them all up one way, or the other. No one would stand in his way, and in the end the weak had to die so that the strong could survive. That was his entire reason for existing...To become the strongest... he thought to himself once more as he came upon the door to the lab. Walking in he realized that it didn't look as if anyone was here. His ocean blue eyes immediately froze over like a thick layer of frost on grass during winter. If the professor wasn't here he wasn't going to be happy at all. Having come all the way from Unova to help out these people, and this was the thanks that he got.
The spiky blonde haired male started to roam around the lab trying to figure out what he was going to. Deciding to be obnoxious he found a counter, and started banging on it loudly causing a lot of noise, and for it to echo down a nearby hallway. Wanting to travel down the hallway he started to before he stopped. Knowing his luck a Charizard would be at the other end of the hallway waiting for him so that it could barbeque him. It could try to roast me.. he thought to himself as he turned around, and observed himself in the mirror. Solo was wearing black jeans with a white cloth belt, a white T-shirt, and a black leather jacket with silver studs on the shoulder. He looked as if he were part of a biker gang. That was the image he liked to portray though the bad boy image. It suited him better than being a goody goody two shoes.
"YO IS ANYONE HERE!" he shouted rather loudly causing once again another echo effect, and if he didn't get an answer this time he figured he would find the pokemon himself, and just take whichever one he desired. After all that is what he was here for to get his starter pokemon, and he already had one in mind it was just seeing if they had it was the problem. Solo wanted something just as cold as he was, and there was only one type of pokemon colder than him. Ice Types, and Dragon Types were the two types that he considered his specialty. Dragons were ferocious, and could destroy, and entire city at a whim, while Ice types were frigid, and could complicate the weather to unimaginable heights. The two of them together would be able to overpower any foe. Hence why they were his favorites.
In the back room busy working on the mountains of paperwork sat Professor Cypress. With his nose in the paperwork he left the lab and all the new trainers that came to get pokemon from him that where sent from the Pokemon Association to his pokemon. Mr. Brown was sleeping in his pokeball, but Mrs. Brown was doing many different things around the lab. Yet neither of them heard the lab door open. Yet both heard the loud banging. The professor was so shocked to hear it in his lab that he slipped knocking over all the paperwork. Landing on the floor with a thud he let out a sigh as all the paperwork fall on top of him. "Mrs. Brown could you find out where that sound was coming from?" He said and the pokemon did just that.
Coming to the teenage boy just after he said his yo is anyone here thing the pokemon looked at him. Her face cold and emotionless. Motioning for the boy to follow her she turned and lead him down the hall to where the professor was. Seeing Mrs. brown the professor stood there and shoved his hands into his labcoat. All the paperwork that had been on the floor was now back on the desk. "Hello I am Professor Cypress." He then said as he looked at the young man.
The pokemon that was soon in front of him seemed even more cold than him, but he didn't think that could be right. However he followed her to the professor, and he stared at the man in front of him. He looked weak, and Solo tried to figure out how someone who looked so pathetic could be a professor. It was trivial to him. In his mind only the strongest should survive, and this guy didn't look strong at all. When the man introduced himself Solo was already looking around trying to find where the pokemon were. he wanted to go ahead, and get this over with. "Yeah yeah I am here for a pokemon. Those Association people sent me here to help out with some rabies problem, or something like that. Here is the letter they sent to my house." he said as he pulled out a folded piece of paper, and handed it to the man still looking around for pokemon. Solo didn't tell him his name because this guy would probably read his name on the paper so it was useless to tell him something that he was going to find out soon anyways.
Turning around he continued to search for where all the pokemon were, and when he couldn't find them he figured he would tell the guy what he wanted. "If you have any I want an Ice type pokemon, or a Dragon type pokemon. Whichever doesn't matter because once I catch one of those pokemon with that virus I won't need the others on my team anyways. I am going to be the first one to catch one, and tame it. To become the strongest..." he said absentmindedly staring at the professor with a bored expression. His eyes were no longer frigid, but they showed how uninterested he was in anything this guy had to say.
Looking at the young man he pulled a clipboard from out of his desk. He know where it was so he didn't have to look while he did it and when the kid handed him the letter he had, he handed him the clipboard. Looking at the letter he saw the kids name and so he spoke. "Alright Mr. Rose here are the pokemon we have. Go through these forms and tell me if any of them stick out for you." He said as he read the letter. Yet when the young man said something about ice and dragon pokemon then about catching an infected one he just about dropped the letter. "You shouldn't try to catch infected pokemon. They can't be tamed." He said looking right at the kid. If it wasn't for the letter from the PA and what not he wouldn't give Solo a pokemon. He didn't want the pokemon nor Solo to end up dead. Still it was his job and so he let out a sigh. "Well we have no dragon types, but we do have one ice type - Spheal. If you would like I can get a couple of them and you can choose which one you would like." He added after a brief moment of silence.
Listening to what the man said about the infected pokemon he just laughed at him, an evil cruel laugh. Turning to face the man he smiled as his eyes grew colder. Instead of burning with a fire of passion his eyes froze over with the ferocity of a blizzard. "You don't know me very well then do you. Obviously if it was impossible I wouldn't be here right now. I make the impossible possible, and I will make one of them obey me. Every creature no matter how savage can be made to listen." he said to the other man as he stood there gazing at him his blizzard blue eyes. This guy didn't know Solo very well, but he would make one of those pokemon his own, and teach it to obey. Listening to the thought of a Spheal however he perked up, and allowed an evil smirk to come over his face. "Hmmm lets see...Spheal evolves into Sealeo, and finally Walrein. Very powerful pokemon yeah lets bring them out." he said to the Professor as he waited.
No the professor didn't know Solo at all, however that didn't mean he wished to learn that the boy was killed by an infected pokemon. He really was just trying to get the boy to see reason about his goals. Yet there was nothing he could really do. After all this young man would just have to see how stupid is idea was for himself. Needless to say Cypress wasn't to happy to have to give Solo a pokemon, but when he agreed to see the Spheal the man nodded his head and went into a side room. Coming out a moment later with three pokeballs in his hands. Stopping in front of Solo he made the balls bigger and put them on his desk. Calling out the first one he started to speak. "This first one is a male who as you can see is a bit timid." As he spoke the Spheal ducked behind Cypress's legs and peeked over at Solo. Letting out the next one he watched as it bounced around the room. "This girl is a cheerful thing that is quiet hyper. It is hard to get her to listen sometimes." He told the boy before calling out the last one. It was different then the others. Where as the others where blue this one was purple and just stood there staring up at Solo with a smirk on it's face. "This girl is well not the nicest. She seems to think she is better the many of the other pokemon and where as she is brave she is also quiet the bully as well." As he finished saying that Cypress let out a sigh as that last Spheal the bully one went over to the other girl and tripped her. "Do any of these pokemon interested you?" He asked hoping to get this over with as well.
Solo watched the three Spheal in front of him, and he watched the timid male hide away, and then the energetic one was bouncing everywhere. However the one that stood out to him was the second female, and as she stared back at Solo with her odd color he watched her actions, and when she went over to the other female, and tripped her a smile crept over his lips. He didn't smile often, but he couldn't help, but smile at this pokemon. Kneeling down so that he could look into the third Spheals eyes he held out his hand. "Yeah I will take her the one who isn't afraid." he said looking at the small pokemon before him. "How would you like to come with me, and become the strongest pokemon ever?" he asked it as he waited for a response.
Well it seemed like there would be one good thing out of this. The female bully would be leaving the lab it would seem. At least the other pokemon could relax a bit and not worry about being pushed around by her. As it was she looked at Solo as he took to his knees and smiled at her. Going over to him she smirked at him like she had before and slapped out at his hand. Was she trying to hit him or give him a high five of sorts. The professor didn't know, but it was probably more of the hitting thing with her. "You'll need this then." He said as he tossed her pokeball to Solo and recalled the other two. Putting their pokeball's in his pocket he then spoke up again. "You also get some supplest to help you. Give me a moment." As he spoke he went to the side room again and returned the pokeballs that where in his pocket to where he had got them. Coming out with some supplies he put them on his desk for Solo to collect. Looking at the Spheal as she made a gesture that she was strong with her little arms Cypress let out another sigh, but this one was silent.
