They were hidden in one of Melchior's secret bases - as if their safety were anything to be promised. Still the child's treehouse on the suburban block was free of any scourge presence when she arrived. She hoped she could stay here for the night, recooperate, and rest her pokemon. The dog whimpered as another matte broke, laying down on the wooden floor to hide her belly from further harm. It was enough for one day. It would take a month to remove the mutt's wild curls. Suddenly, she heard a knock and froze, dimming the already faint light of her lantern. She could only hear her breath.
