This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

"So. What do I call you?" She glances at the claydol, adjusting the goggles on her face -- she does not want grains of sand flying into her eyes, thank you very much. The pokemon remains silent, and Delilah sighs. "Okay, fine." The woman fiddles with the scarf that's over her mouth and nose. "Samigina?"
One of its large eyes slowly blinks.
"Yeah, I didn't think so either. Botis? ... No, not that," Delilah muses. "How about ... Ose?" The claydol blinks again, and the woman sighs in frustration. "Just tell me if you like it."
Yes.
Delilah grins. "Awesome. Welcome to the team, Ose."
What was that girl wearing on her face? The little thing just had to know. He'd never seen something like those before...had he? Or did all the humans wear those nowadays? He hadn't seen a human around these parts in a while though...
So the Diglett dug a path toward Delilah, looking up at her goggled with a confused expression. "Dig?"<What's on your head?>
Delilah looks at the small diglett, her eyebrows coming together. It seems as if its asking her a question, but it's not as if she can understand. Instead, the woman glances at her claydol. "What's it saying?" she asks, tilting her head. The claydol's answer is slow. What is on your face.
The woman laughs, tapping the gear with a rough fingernail. "These are called goggles." She squats down in front of the wild pokemon, smiling. "Nice to meet you, by the way." (She isn't even sure if it can understand her, but it is worth a try.)
<Goggles? What are goggles?>"Digglett Dig Dig!" The Diglett asked, not knowing that the Claydol was the one that was relaying his words to the woman. He was staring at the goggles, blinking slowly.
A giggle, or what seemed like a giggle, escaped his mouth. <I wanna wear them!>"Diglett Diglett!"
