This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Proserpina city was indeed a marvelous place, a haven of wonder. With all this going on in the world, how could such a nice city exist? Obviously, the Scourge was still far away. This place reeked not of death and damnation, but of happiness. This was simply a wonderful place to start a journey!
Triton twitched on Vincent's shoulder. His tail started shaking violently, and his eyes grew large. "Poli-poli-poli!" he shouted excitedly, shifting around on the shoulder. The Poliwag was obviously drawn towards the ocean. "Alright, alright - relax. A quick trip to the water, OK? And then straight to work!" Vincent said strictly, and Triton nodded eagerly. Vincent followed the smell of salty water and humidity, closing in on the docks.
But halfway there, the duo passed a warehouse. A shuffling could be heard inside, although it was quite obviously abandoned by humans. "Triton, we'll make a quick stop in here before the docks, OK? I'm afraid we won't find this building again if we leave" Vincent explained. The tadpole was disappointed, but approved of the plan.
Vincent walked up some stairs at the side of the warehouse, where some panels sealing off a window where loose. With a little jerk, an opening large enough for the two of them to climb through was open. And so they did. "I just hope we can get out the same way we got in..." Vincent worried.

With a half-hearted, slow jingle, the little music pokemon plodded along the ground near some crates. She was so very tiny and young, and the uncertainty with which she peered around the wooden corners proved her to be lost. Where was the forest? Where were the trees? She shouldn't have left the meadow to wander along the path that led into the city. Chased by headlights, bicycles, and the Wingull from the nearby sea, she shivered with anxiety and fight. A sorrowful tune rung in her mouth. This wasn't a good time any more.
Once Vincent and his pokemon Triton were inside the warehouse, they could hear a solemn ring. A nervous sound it was, as if a bell was sad. And at that thought, they could see a small Chingling wandering the storage. Triton kept his distance, seeing as it was a wild pokemon.
Vince, however, did not keep his distance. He took out his pokedex and scanned the little bell-like creature. The screen started glowing, and an information spread appeared. "Chingling, the Bell pokemon" Vincent read aloud, the knowledge soaking into his mind.
"Right, Triton. In case of aggressive behavior, stand your guard" Vincent said, and the Poliwag stood steadfastly in front of his master.

The song coming from the little Chingling continued to drone on. She floated to and fro between wooden crates that could have easily swallowed her whole. She wished they did. Then, she would not have to deal with the utter embarrassment that ensued from having left the clan of older Chimecho. She'd thought that she knew better. Clearly, the Pokémon had been wrong, and now she was stuck out here in the middle of nowhere. "It will be fun," she said. "I'll have a good time," she said. Now, her conscience rang true to her, "You're going to run into a big, bad trainer who wants to beat you up to toughen up their own bully Pokémon!" And at that, she heard a faint voice, started, and zoomed face-first into a crate.
The bell pokemon floated right into a crate, much to Vincent's amusement. It must really have been outide its element, poor thing. The ringing sound sounded, in a lack of a better word, depressed. As if the thing was sad. This was a thought quite difficult for Vincent to understand, since he always assumed that wild pokemon were too primitive to feel such a complex emotion. To a certain degree, he still doubted it.
While his owner was both interested and entertained, Triton did not feel any such thing. He had been asked to stand ground and secure his master's safety - and that he would do without question. The Chingling was too close for comfort, and the attack at the crate could be some sort of territorial gesture. Better to be safe than sorry.
The Poliwag stared at the Chingling in an attempt at hypnosis, since dealing with it while asleep would be much easier. Thereafter, he let loose a barrage of bubbles, hoping to hurt the opponent into submission. The assault took Vincent by surprise, but it was no mystery to him why his pokemon had acted that way.

The creature recognized those sound waves. She flew out of the crate, not wanting to get trapped in all four sides. That would not have been a very smart thing to do. The Chingling ducked and rolled out of the way of the Poliwag's assault, only to get smacked in the face by a stream of bubbles. It stung her face and she let out a musical cry, very unhappy about the way that this day was going. She thought she'd go exploring, but then she was lost in a warehouse, and now there was a crazy Poliwag on her tail. She whipped out her red tendrils, flailing them about to catch the Poliwag. She's show him!

Vincent's surprised look quickly came to an end when the chingling fought back. It was now officially a battle. The bell pokemon was hit by bubble, before trying to wrap its rope-like appendages around Triton. The poliwag, aware of this, leaped away with tight reflexes. Landing to Vincent's side, the young researcher soon saw that if Triton couldn't hypnotize the foe, he would end up wrapped tightly by the chingling, unable to escape its attacks.
"Triton, hypnotize that damn bell!" Vincent shouted as quickly as he could, the poliwag obeying without question. With a serene focus, Triton's spiral, located on his belly, started glowing and violet waves started pulsating, sending a hypnotizing force towards the little bell pokemon.

Whoops, here came the Hypnosis again. This time, the Chingling wasn't so lucky. She was hit by the full force of the Poliwag's hypnotizing stare, and it wasn't long before she fell into a deep slumber. Unfortunately, for her, there wasn't really much that she could do in this state.
Seeing the hypnosis work was marvelous, and while asleep the bell pokemon would be much easier to deal with. Triton, without the command of his master, let loose a barrage of bubbles towards the opponent, hoping to deal some serious damage.
Only moments after the chingling's nap commenced, however, it woke up. This premature development frustrated Triton to quite a degree. However, Vincent was as usual calm and collected. "Before it attacks, try hypnotizing it again!" he commanded. Despite his frustration, the tadpole pokemon focused once more and let out hypnotizing waves towards the psychic bell. Hopefully, this time with more success.

The Chingling wasn't about to fall for that trick a second time. This time, she whipped her tendrils out a second time with the full intentions to squeeze the energy out of the Poliwag. In fact, she was a little embarrassed that she'd fallen asleep in the middle of the battle. She was ever a bashful little thing. Still, she knew that she had to fight. If she didn't bite back, this encounter would conclude with her capture. She'd be taken away from her Chimecho-Chingling clan, far-far away from home. That was the last thing that she wanted after this entire ordeal. The Chimecho had been right; she should have stayed home. So the Chimecho channeled all this frustration into her attack.
With the hypnosis failing and the chingling obviously getting agitated, it was time for Triton to give this his all. He was not about to get squeezed by this little floating bell. With an instantaneous burst of his spirits, he ran into a sprint, boosting his speed. With this kind of rapidity, there was no way the attack could hit him.
Vincent was getting really proud of his pokemon. What a show! "Let loose your bubbles again, and then it's time for that bell to snooze and lose!" he commanded, getting caught in the moment. The tadpole bombarded the chingling with his bubbles. Then, stopping abruptly, he let the hypnotic pulses fly. The battle was really getting intense!

Things were taking a turn for the worse when it came to this Chimecho's day. In fact, the little Pokémon was getting quite fed up with this tadpole Pokémon's hypnotizing effects. If she didn't pay attention, she'd fall asleep for sure. She was beginning to get a little unsteady on her feet though, a clear sign of the effects of Triton's Bubble attack. Getting smacked by all that water wasn't fun at all. First she'd gotten lost, then she'd run into this awful human and his blue Pokémon, and now it wouldn't stop spraying her with its water. The Chimecho rubbed the water out of her eyes before lashing out at the Pokémon with the ribbons. She'd show him!

With the foe still awake, Triton was starting to get slightly frustrated. The tadpole got even more frustrated when he was entangled in the stupid bell's ribbons. "Poliii!" he cried miserably as he was squeezed. Vincent, on the other hand, had seen the attack before, preformed by a tentacool, and knew that it wasn't all that dangerous.
"Shake it of, Triton! Use hypnosis and bubble!" Vincent commanded. Although distracted, the poliwag did as commanded and unleashed first psychic waves and then a barrage of bubbles. Even though it was a bad situation, they would just have to accept it. And the chingling's grip would probably weaken if it were asleep, right?

PS: Tell me if I did anything wrong in this post... Wrap confuses me a bit. ZULF ?
Smack, smack, smack went the bubbles. The Chimecho had thought she was being clever by restraining the Poliwag in her grip. Unfortunately, she hadn't realized that the Pokémon's main attack power came from the water that spurted from Triton's mouth and not, per say, the creature's feet or tail. Unfortunately, the consequences for such a mistake was the loss of the very last bits of her energy. The ribbons wrapped about the Poliwag's form soon loosened as the Pokémon fell from the air onto the floor and tumbled forward for a couple of feet. There, the trainer would exact his judgment. To be caught or not to be caught; that was the question.
Victory! Mmmmm, the taste was so sweet. As the little bell fell to the ground, there was a slight temptation to capture it, but honestly Vincent wasn't impressed. The chingling had just hit with a single attack - incompetent. Vincent would not have it. He called Triton back, the poor tadpole being both proud and tired, and walked right past the unconscious pokemon.
Across to another wall, there were shelves of books. Or at least Vincent thought there was - it was quite dark in the warehouse. He walked over, and was about to grab what he identified as a particularly large book, when a blast of dust hit him in the face. "Uuuuugh!?" he roared sorely and coughed repeatedly.
