This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

No matter how long Eifa stayed in these scourge infested areas, they never exactly felt like home. Even if home was just about this chaotic. She thought back, to a better time, but shook her head violently trying to clear her thoughts of it. Meira was long dead, and as far as anyone knew, she disappeared in the attack - possibly eaten alive. That's how she wanted it, no one looking for her.
She hated this path that she was chosen for, she hated herself, but she knew she shouldn't fight it. She had no chance of living a normal life in this world, she needed to transform this place into the new word order that was promised, and fast. Maybe then, and only then would the guilt go away.
Azar sat on her lap as she ran her hand through the fuzz that surrounded his body. He was soft. She sat, and waited, and waited. It was agonizingly slow. She wished someone would come already.
That's when she saw a flicker of something unusual, hair that didn't quite belong to any agent she knew. This was her opportunity. "Off." She whispered, and the creature got down. "Get ready, Azar." He was too cute, he moved his head so the mane like fuzz around his head shook. She stood up, picked up her pokemon and held him close. She took her styler out of her pocket, she stepped forward, and called out hoping to get the trainer's attention, hoping for her to turn around.
It hadn't even been a year since she joined Eos, but it felt like a lifetime; her skin was scarred, her nails were cracked, and even her hair was beginning to fade. The purple wasn't quite as deep, the pink not nearly as vibrant, and -- worst of all -- she didn't care.
Putting your life on the line on a near-constant basis really shoved things into perspective, didn't it?
Her Gallade walked to her left, compensating for the paralysis that seemed to encompass not only her hand but her elbow, almost even her shoulder -- and it shouldn't have been possible, really, that it was spreading. (But every rule that had governed her life was shattered the moment Pax fell, so she no longer put much thought to it.)
This was reckless, she knew. Walking around Pax unguarded as she was, with only a single pokemon out, was like handing her life away on a platter ... but she was still around, so Delilah didn't see herself stopping anytime soon.
If they would not come to her, she would go to them.
The moment she heard someone's voice, she spun around with a pokeball already in her hand, her Gallade's blades up and ready to face whatever threat there was. "Who is it?" she snapped, her voice sharp. Her gaze was drawn to the blonde -- familiar, somehow, though she was too far to really tell -- then to the capture styler.
Delilah's jaw clenched, although there was a hint of feral pleasure tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Who the fuck're you?"
She moved closer, trying to get a better look at the trainer's face. Her voice was far too familiar for Eifa's liking. Azar started to warm up against her chest, he was getting ready to beat the shit out of whoever this was - she was rude.
Curiosity caused her to move closer. She nearly dropped Azar as it dawned on her who she had challenged. "Deliah?" It was clear by her voice that Eifa was shocked. It was so sereal, she thought she was dead. By the look of her Pokemon though, she was far from dead.
Were they going to fight? It was clear that they had chosen different sides. "Eifa." Maybe she was far away enough that Deliah didn't notice, she could only hope.
She let Azar down. Azar on the other hand, didn't have the same kind of reluctance that his Agent had. Azar used signal beam on the Gallade. He nudged his trainer, bringing her attention back to the task at hand. She drew the sign for Raikou. She had to fight her, and for some reason, she felt as though Deliah should know who she was.
"I once went by Meira, but that girl is long since dead."
Azar used signal beam on the gallade. 3245P15s less than ten and the gallade is confused. Eifa drew raikou sign on the gallade, and it's paralyzed without fail.
Delilah's smile grew wider; she's all sharp eyes and bright teeth, ready and all-too-willing to tear, rip, rend, destroy (and while she claimed it in the name of Eos, sometimes she wondered if it's not for herself, too).
The only difference between her and her enemies was what they fought for.
Then she heard her name, and the bloodlust drained out of her body like a pulled plug in the bathtub. She didn't recognize the woman in front of her, although there was a nagging feeling in the back of her mind that told her she should, nor did she recognize the name Eifa --
-- but she did know Meira, and it was only Decarabia's muted Delilah! that brought her to her senses.
She could ask the whys and hows afterward.

Here she was, battling someone she thought was did. She and Azar were outnumbered, but she wasn't afraid - if anything something stirred inside her. A want, no, a need to finish this and bombard her former friend for answers. What of her brother? Did he somehow - with the help of Eifa's parents - make it out alive? She regretted how much she hated him. She shook her head, now wasn't the time to get distracted. "Azar, toxic, you see it? Dodge it." He could deal with damage, but she was smart enough to know that toxic and poison would get worse and worse the longer she allowed it to stay, and she had no antidotes on her. Azar dodged toxic. Azar is hit by air slash. Azar used signal beam on the gallade. Azar used flame charge on the vespiquen. q3M5Cp_N > 70, due to flame body ability vespiquen will be burned if greater than 70. Delilah was glad for her pokemon's experience and discretion; with Meira as her opponent, she was in no state to be talking, let alone commanding her pokemon in battle.
She had always imagined the Scourge as evil incarnate, bringing death and ruin like a plague, and the human vessels of that destruction only served to put a face to a name. (But this was Meira, and -- and how could her friend possibly be the one standing before her, fighting in the name of her enemy?)

Eifa for the most part normally talked through her battles, taunted her enemies, and enraged them into making mistakes with their pokemon. Here, she couldn't bring herself to utter a single word to Deliah, instead all her words were directed to guided Azar. "Dodge air slash, use morning sun."

She would take her friend back.

Azar fainted. The last through blasts blew off some of his legs, she picked him up. She stared at Deliah, and cradled the scourge pokemon against her chest. She waited for him to come back to her. "I knew you wouldn't understand, Deliah. I knew it."She roared.
"That's right, I'm a fucking murderer. Do you know what its like to be chosen? Of course you fucking don't."
"You're the one whose stupid, Deliah. I can't escape that thing."
"Aw, aren't you a sweetheart? I could almost say the same about you. I'm just not that heartless." She took a step back and watched Azar slowly by surely grow back what he had lost. He was too cute sometimes.
"A month ago or so I accepted it. Until then I've been running around scourge infected areas, rejecting it. I couldn't really go and leave."
