The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

She'd be lying if she said she wasn't anxious. This wasn't going to be easy. She didn't exactly have any type advantages or at the very least she thought she didn't. Not to mention the gym was no non-traditional that it scared her. "Hello?" She called. "I'm here to challenge the gym leader!" She could do it. She had to believe in herself and in her pokemon, and she could in fact do this.
atalanta stretched out lazily on a beach chair, watching the girl as she entered the gym. this wasn't all that interesting. a few challengers here and there, and she got her paycheck. very nice. she supposed she could put up with a few faces and people coming to challenge her on her ship.
"mm." atalanta's voice was lazy but not lethargic. she sipped her mojito, and waved for her blastoise. it popped its head out of the water, bottle in hand and refilled her glass.
Well, Heal would be lying if she said she wasn't disappointed. After meeting tons of gym leaders this was her most, well, uneventful introduction. Heal just nodded, she ran a hand through her hair and grabbed her pokeball that was located on her left hip. She sent out Gore, who seemed pretty eager to get up and get this over with. "Ready when you are miss."
cute face, cuter pokémon. did juno do things that way now? atalanta waved for her blastoise to leave the fray and from the swimming pool, her tentacruel emerged.
"oh, india." atalanta sipped her cocktail. the tentacruel set to work.

Now she had to be careful, toxic spikes sucked. She adjusted the cat ears on her head, because she felt as though they were drooping. "You know what to do Gore, let's show them what we're made of, alright?" She cheered on her pokemon energetically.

Was she doubting her? Heal could tell she wasn't taking this battle very seriously at all. Fine then, Heal will just have to take it seriously enough for the two of them.
Gore is hit by scald. Gore is burned, due to its ability tentacruel is also burned. Gore used calm mind, raising her sp. atk and sp. defense. Gore used psychic on the tentacruel. Gore takes damage from the burn.
atalanta raised an eyebrow at india getting burned. never mind, they'd manage just fine. "more," she mumbled, still not inebriated despite her drink. her blastoise obeyed and refilled her glass, adding an umbrella to it for a nice touch.
atalanta tossed the umbrella carelessly into the pool. her blastoise frowned.

Shit, Heal rarely cursed, but this wasn't good. Gore fainted when hit on impact by that hex. She sighed. She thought carefully, maybe she underestimated this gym leader, then again, she was the final one before the elite four. Heal didn't really have an advantage against water types, but she wasn't exactly disadvantaged either. She recalled Gore, and kissed her pokeball before she hooked it back on her hip. She called out Apollo.
