This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Nix had heard other passing trainers and people speak of a little village cloe to where she had just so happened to be walking and figured she may as well give it a look about, she had spent a lot of time looking around the city before so why not poke about everywhere she traveled to. Of course she did realize she was a little more stuck than most who poked about as she didnt have the strongest pokemon ever but she was working on that, as well as any new trainer can work on that. Mimi had gained a fair few levels since she had got her and nix now had a rather full team, aside the few pokemon she had managed to find new home for because they were so far from her ideal team
In an attempt to be more like the loving, kind and caring person she thought she probably should be, Felizia had thought that maybe – just maybe – it would be a nice idea to let her Pokemon stretch their legs and play in the trees while she had a look around the village.
She hadn’t expected the bloody things to play a prank and run off with her bag.
“Annoying little… argh! Not funny you two! Get back here!” she shouted after them. If she listened hard enough, Felizia thought that she could hear the two monkeys snickering even with the distance the two Pokemon were putting between themselves and her. “Bloody wind-ups…” she muttered, not all that quietly, as an awkward feeling fell and reminded her that even if this was a village, there were people around. Like that orange-haired girl over there, who probably had the best view of them all. Felizia glanced over at her – yup, she definitely had had the best view – then quickly looked back over at her Pokemon who were now jeeringat her.
I swear, if she says it…
(ooc: hey @nixnight! and jsyk it's an aipom and a mankey).
Nix paused and looked around the village for a small moment before she deicded she may as well let her team do so as well, so she lowered her hand to her belt and pulled away the pokeballs waiting there. She sent out Poko and Ickle before she paused, Misty might be a little big for a place like this and she was a rather low level. She wanted her to get stronger of course but didnt want to see her hurt either, so better not to. And as for minx, after her near run in with an angry battling bug type, she was grounded!
Nix chuckled to herself at this thought and the two pokemon who were out looked at her before they set themselves apart, poko mewed at mimi to come down from her trainers shoulders and come and play while ickle drifted over the wind to her trainers arms and demanded a hug. Nix could hear mimi sigh but she still lowered herself down from nix's shoulder and moved over the ground to play with the other pokemon, leaving nix to reach out and catch ickle and pull her in close to her. She did like having a pokemon who wanted to be babied, even if it was only because ickle was so young. Though her eyes were drawn away through all of this to a trainer who seemed to be having a hard time with her pokemon, "Er, Need a hand?" Nix asked as the other female moved her gaze to her
Felizia stared at the girl with a hint of hostility. She hadn’t said anything, but her reaction had told her that she had certainly thought it.
And judging from the little collection of Pokemon by the girl, Felizia guessed that she was a trainer. A beginning one. Who probably thought Felizia was a beginner too. Jeez, what encouragement. Her pride told her to tell the girl that no, she could handle her own Pokemon on her own, perfectly well, thank you very much! – but at the same time, Felizia was tired, and chasing after two Pokemon, who had no sense of when things were appropriate or not, was something she didn’t want to do.
“Think you can get ‘em? Fine,” Felizia huffed, none too happy about this entire situation. “Get ‘em.” Then to her Pokemon, she shouted, “You hear that you little—?! You wanted a game? You got it!”
From the looks of things, the only Pokemon of the trainer’s that looked like it could catch up to the two monkeys was the Ponyta, and once the monkeys headed into a trees (which they always did when there was a chase) it would become a whole different ball game. Felizia could already make a good guess at how this was going to end.
She looked back at the trainer, curious to see how she would handle this, but also a little anxious for the same reason. Trainers did things differently, after all. “All yours, Ginger.”
Nix could almost feel the hostility rolling off this other trainer, venom almost dripping from her eyes. Though it seemed she still wanted the pokemon back, that or she wanted to see nix try and fail. "Well alright" she said in a simple voice before she whistled and her own pokemon turned to look at her, "Poko, get close. Mimi, use wrap. And ickle, sweet kiss" she said with a nod of her head as she tossed ickle in to the air. mimi flicked her tail out and grabbed the smaller and now giggling pokemon as poko took off towards the other too with the pink dratini sitting on her back still, now with company. Nix sighed in relief as poko actually did as she said for once but that may have been because she was hoping to get a battle from this, of course nix had no idea of the levels of the other pokemon but her plan was to trap and confuse them so they could easily be returned rather than enrage them and set them on her own pokemon
Though she had no idea how the other trainer would take this, she had of course offered to help but maybe the trainer expected her and her pokemon to chase after these other two. Well that seemed stupid in even an idea form to nix, why use speed when you have pokemon moves to aid you. Well, there was no going back now. She had done what she had done and now to see if it worked.
MIMI USED WRAP TO TRY AND CONTAIN THE POKEMON - ICKLE USED SWEET KISS TO CONFUSE THEM FOR RETURING
Well that hadn’t been a surprise. The trainer was dealing the situation in a very trainer-ish way (which, although hard to admit, was hopefully going to be more effective than anything Felizia felt bothered to do). Felizia watched the Pokemon do their thing, resisting a nearly automatic urge to shout out some command, or even a warning, at her own Pokemon.
Oh well. They brought it on themselves.
As soon as the two monkeys had seen the other Pokemon running towards them, they made a run for the nearest tree. Aipom was struck by the Igglybuff’s attack and tripped over, dropping the bag as she fell. To the Mankey, it didn’t seem worth it to turn back to retrieve the bag, or to defend its partner in crime, not when a trio of Pokemon were after it. It jumped to the side, then scampered up the nearest tree where it could settle down and focus on an attack undisturbed.
(Well, it hoped it would be undisturbed).
Meanwhile the Aipom now found itself wrapped tightly by one of the attacking Pokemon. She didn’t like the sudden turn of events – she had been playing a joke one minute, and the next she was getting ganged up on. How did it escalate so quickly? Did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?
Head spinning, and body starting to ache, the Aipom struck out at the offending Dratini, only to somehow hit herself instead. Luckily, although it hurt like hell, the blow knocked the sense back into her.
(Aipom hit by Sweet Kiss Aipom is confused 6cCymAGa ((wait damn it's an odd number)) Aipom hurt itself in confusion Aipom is no longer confused Mankey dodged… well, whatever was aimed at it Mankey used Focus Energy)
Should have really seen that coming. Nix rolled her eyes as poko bucked up, dropping mimi and ickle to the ground to continue their battle as she walked away, earning a hiss from her trainer. The pokemon paused beside the bag of the other trainer before she picked it up and then looked back at nix, shrugging for a moment, then walking off again. "Poko! Thats just rude!" nix snapped but the pokemon moved away to the tree the mankey was sitting in and laid down underneath it, earning another hiss from nix. "For goodness sake" she muttered softly as she watched her other two pokemon battle, well that went well enough. "Mimi, dragon pulse now. Then thunder wave on the mankey. Ickle, Sing and pound" she called out as her mimi wiggled with her captured pokemon and both pokemon moved again. ickle didnt quite aim for the right pokemon, though nix figured attacking the mankey couldnt hurt. Mimi however was getting better at this whole battling thing though and she had the other pokemon wrapped anyway until it managed to roll free of her attack so they seemed to have the upper hand

ICKLE USED SING ON MANKEY ICKLE USED POUND ON AIPOM
Watching the interaction between the trainer and her Ponyta, Felizia couldn’t help but let out an amused sound (which honestly sounded more like a snort than anything else). Seeing someone else having obedience problems with their Pokemon lifted a certain weight in her mind and Felizia felt better for it.
She still wasn’t going to help out her Pokemon though. Hell no. Not really.
Besides, it looked like it was going to end soon.
Seriously, the Aipom was at the mercy of a dragon-type who had trapped it. No amount of scratching was going to save it no matter how much it tried. The Mankey wasn’t faring much better; the bloody thing thought that it was safe up in its tree and let its guard down. It wasn’t all that surprising when the Thunder Wave hit the monkey and caused it to fall out of the tree. Thank Arceus it hadn’t landed on top of the Ponyta – that would have crossed the line to cringe-worthy.
When the Aipom took a fistful of Igglybuff, Fellizia shouted, “Okay! That’s enough you guys!” Her troublemakers, one wrapped and the other paralysed, weren’t exactly going to run off again. “You got ‘em,” Felizia said to the girl, turning to make eye-contact with her. “Don’t get carried away.” As much as she had wanted her Pokemon to be taught a lesson (and later she would realise in hindsight that it was an unnecessary one), it hurt to watch her Aipom be ganged up on.
(All Mimi and Ickle’s attacks hit Aipom used Scratch on Mimi again Obligatory paralysis roll: hSsHuoxT)
Nix nodded her head as she watched her pokemon, though did feel a littler bad for the pair of monkeys. Poko was most unhappy with having a paralyzed mankey fall down very close to her and she started up and kicked out at it before she realized it wasnt attacking her so no need to, "stupid horse" nix muttered softly only to see the little thing now glaring at her. Mimi gave a yelp at this moment as the little pokemon she had wrapped scratched at her and then she curled herself in tight to wrap the little thing before the trainer spoke up, earning an unhappy moan from ickle. This was somehting nix knew but ignored about the little pokemon, ickle was very spoilt. She knew what she wanted and because she was so cute, normally she got it. Though it seemed she wanted to battle, even if this other trainer didnt want to.
The girl turned and spoke to nix who nodded her head before she gave a low whistle and mimi uncurled herself from the smaller pokemon and then turned to look at ickle, who was clearing considering keeping the battle going. The dratini sighed and wrapped her tail around the baby pokemon and started back to nix's side, earning some uphappy sobs from the baby who really did want to keep going. "Ickle shh, we'll find you another battle" nix said with a sigh as she turned to look back at poko who was the one now carrying the bag, they'd need that now
Felizia’s attentions turned straight to her Pokemon. She hurried over to her Aipom and a quick look over the Long Tail Pokemon showed that it definitely wasn’t going to be playing around in the trees anytime soon. It seemed like a good idea to offer it some words of comfort at its quick loss, but the best she could manage was a quick, “Well, at least you kept going,” before returning the Pokemon to its Pokeball.
Some sort of customary post-battle guilt was starting to creep into her consciousness, so Felizia immediately went about distracting herself. She stood and turned back to the trainer. “You a trainer, Ginger? Your Pinky there seems like a little brawler. Could grow into a tough little Pokemon.” Felizia spoke loudly as she walked over to her paralysed Mankey. She didn’t hurry for the Mankey – it had taken more damage from its fall out of the tree than from the other Pokemon, and what kind of Mankey let a tree fall be the defeat of it?
With no Paralysis Heal on hand, it was better to return the Mankey even if, bar the paralysis, was still fit enough to wander around, so that’s what Felizia did. And the last thing to do now…
She stared at the Ponyta for a second, briefly mulling something over in her head before deciding to ask herself. Felizia relaxed her posture and held out her hand before asking it, “Can I have my bag back please?”
Nix watched as the girl came forwards and returned her own pokemon, not without a funny little comment it seemed but still. Everyone has their own style with pokemon, nix just felt that wasnt the right one but who was she to judge. The girl spoke back to her and nix raised her glance to look at her before she smirked, "Ickle asked to join us rather than came though battle, im fairly sure she just wants to prove she has a right to be on the team" she explained as she bent down. Mimi brought the crying baby to her side and nix reached out and stroked her softly, earning a sulky mew from ickle who turned away from her trainer. "i know, im the most horrible person ever" she said with a smirk before ickle nodded in agreement and then allowed herself to be picked up, though she was the one to lean against nix for a hug.
Nix chuckled at the pokemon closest to her before she saw the girl turn to poko and ask for her bag, the fire type watched her with careful eyes before she mewed herself. She lowered her head to let the bag drop to the floor and then she turned and stood over it, not to guard it but simply to see what the other would do. Nix would have pushed poko to one side and taken her bag before thanking the pokemon but poko wanted to see what other trainers did when minorly challenged
Felizia shrugged, but still watched the Ponyta carefully, trying to gauge its mood. Her very unscientific deduction was something along the line of “At least it didn’t run away.” The very last thing Felizia wanted was to have to chase down another Pokemon to get her bag back. Although, in saying that, if such a thing happened Felizia herself probably wouldn’t be sent to retrieve the bag – the Ponyta had a trainer, after all.
The Ponyta didn’t seem hostile in its action, and, come to think of it, Felizia couldn’t remember it being hostile at all. Feeling it was safe to do so, Felizia moved a little closer, then bent over to grab her bag and pull it away as fast as she could.
(ooc: short post is short in case you want poko to react)
Nix held ickle close to her as she watched poko with worried eyes, she did this to her all the time but poko was her pokemon so it wasnt such an issue. The female seemed to think about it for a moment before she moved closer to the pokemon and poko gave a snort and stamped a hoof down, earning a hiss from her trainer. The pokemon looked back to nix as the other female bent down and started to reach for her bag and nix's cold green eyes told poko that misbehaving the way she would with her was not acceptable at all with another trainer, and nix gave poko a lot of slack. The fire type turned back to the other female and dropped her head to allow her to take her bag as nix nodded stiffly, she needed a fire type on her team and that was the only reason poko was still with her. She was stubborn and rude and selfish, her other pokemon tried to get along with her and not even ickle could manage it. The girl was only even nice when it did something for her, which was very rarely!
Well that was a relief. For a second there the Ponyta seemed to have changed her mind, even if it did have to be prompted by its trainer. Felizia secured her bag back onto her back as soon as she could; no way she wanted to lose it again anytime soon.
“Cheers,” she said to the Ponyta, and then nodded over its trainer. “And you too. Thanks for helping me get my bag back.” Out of the few appropriate things Felizia knew (and the fewer that she actually did), one was to give thanks where it was due. She had a strong feeling that if this trainer hadn’t helped her out, she’d be dealing with one helluva headache right now.
“You didn’t really answer my question, y’know,” Felizia pointed out to the trainer as she leisurely walked back over to her. “You’re a trainer, right?” It was most likely true, more than anything else; it was like there were hundreds and hundreds of trainers for every handful of anything else. And not only that, the girl being a trainer matched up with the Igglybuff’s story a lot better – wouldn’t that have been rotten luck if the Igglybuff had accidentally approached someone less inclined to battling.
nix watched poke with careful eyes as she behaved herself and then nodded to the other female as she spoke back to her and she gave a little smile, though a large part of her foresaw this as being a rare comment from this girl. she had been so quick to snap before, giving nix the idea that she wasn't a most friendly person all the time. The girl moved towards her and spoke again and nix rolled her eyes before she looked back to this other girl, "Yea, im a trainer. First in the line of a far too well known breeding family but hey" she said with a little frown as she thought her her relatives. "To be honest im more the kind to give everything a go and so saying in a trainer but trying to breed once in a while and see what else i can try seemed to work best for me and my team, so its the answer i give to most" she said with a little tilt of her head as she looked back to the other girl. Just saying you were a trainer could mean almost anything, she felt she just had to narrow it down
