The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

They sent it here, alone, not knowing that a place with huts and cottages was like a gold mine to it. Then again, they were also the ones that stuck their nose up at its weak attempts at jokes and crude humor, there was no way that they would understand to begin with. It sulked, pouting for a brief moment before perking up again, filled with a giddy sort of anticipation.
Sinking lower in the abandoned hut it made its home, Spiritomb waited - hidden out of sight, out of mind. Even if they said he was nothing at all, even if they all called him a nuisance, there was always one thing he had an abundance of - patience. After all, any wait was worth the end result, worth the prank's reaction, always worth the thrill of victory.

There was someone here, a girl who made her prescence known almost immediately, it could see her if it poked its head out of the hut, grey black eyes shining mischievously. It lifted itself up, then quietly moved behind the girl and screamed the scream of a thousand spirits, laughing haughtily afterwards.
This girl, was she strong, was she just for show, would she react well to its prank? Spiritomb mostly cared about the latter part, but the first two were just as well, because it wasn't like it was just going to let them go after this. The higher ups would be furious.
Nix felt her heart leap out of the chest as an ungodly sound came from behind her and she turned and sliced her hand through thing air, misty was quicker to move of course and shot a beam of ice towards the pokemon that had made nix jump so. "what the hell?" the girl snapped as her eyes came in to see the other pokemon and nix felt her heart sink, this was not an easy pokemon. "Sing" nix said in a more worried than confident voice as misty managed to duck under the confusion attack sent to her but the faint attack and shadows move hit her just fine. As of that other thing the pokemon seemed to do, well it hit her but it didnt seem to actually do anything, odd. Though it wasnt all good, the confusion attack seemed to shot towards her and nix felt her hands curl tightly. The attack seemed to hit her pokemon but now it was time to see if misty could attack or not. *Roll edit* It seemed the pokemon had manged to confuse the poor girl, though she kept herself from harming for this turn. The next would bring its own issues

The girl's reaction was funny, but the way the lapras reared up, attacked only to whirl around and strike itself - that, in itself, was priceless. Spiritomb would have guffawed if it was anything but a ghost, but ghosts didn't have that luxury, and instead, its giggling just increased in volume, the thousand or so spirits that made up its body swirling around in an intricate dance.
This pair was a keeper for sure, and Spiritomb was almost worried about the - possible - unsatisfactory amount of fun it could extract from them before it really had to go for the kill, for sake of appearances.

Nix gave a little hiss as misty hit herself but the full growl came as the other pokemon laughed at her poor pokemon, there was nothing she could do to stop it either. Misty turned herself and tried once again to sing and stop the pokemon in its tracks but it turned and attacked her again, shadow sneak and faint attack as a pair again. Nix wasnt sure how much more the girl could take of this, and that smoke screen made it very hard for the pokemon to see. The lowered attack just made it all worse and nix knew she would have to change her poor pokemon out next turn if this didnt work

This was a lot of fun. In fact, the Spiritomb thought this sort of thing was a better change of pace from the common hunt, prey kill cycle every scourge lived by. Maybe the higher ups would reconsider if it described it well enough to them. That was, if they even had the brains left to understand anything past grunts and the occasional reports of new prey in the area.
Unlikely. Better to savor the fun while it still lasted.

Nix didnt have a choice, misty took 2 hits and she knew the girl was going to drop. She was one maybe 3 hp, had she hit herself then she would have been down and out here. "Misty you have to stop" she said in a small voice as she lifted the girls pokeball and then clicked its button, the pokemon dropped her head limply and disappeared in red light with a small moan. Now she was stuck, one more safe pokemon. She took a deep breath and then flicked out mimi's pokeball and the little pokemon hit the ground ahead of her, her eyes scanning before she locked on to the other pokemon. Her eyes suddenly snapped downwards aggressively as she spotted mistys footprints on the ground and she growled softly before throwing her own thunder wave at the pokemon to try and cause it the pain that it had caused her freind

To be completely honest, Spiritomb was more than just a little bummed when the lapras was recalled. It was all for fun and games and pranks(of course!), but in the end, it was still scourge, and the part of it(most of it) that was scourge demanded it live up to their reputation.
The new pokemon was a lot smaller than the previous one, but the thrill of the chase was certainly exciting enough. The higher ups would just have to do with smaller prey - the main prey was still reserved for Spiritomb itself.
Nix watched as the other pokemon used its most worrying move against her mimi, hypnosis. Though it seemed not to work and nix gave a happy nod, mimi once again tried to throw her thunder wave back at it as it hit her down with its own attacks before she gave a little growl. These hits were hard but she was a stubborn one too! She used dragon pulse before she wriggled on the floor and watched the bigger pokemon with careful eyes, she needed to keep out of the way of its hits as best she could now

Its eyes lit up when the little pokemon made a move, finally, finally starting to fight back the way Spiritomb knew these prey could. Easy kill was always fun, said and done, but at the end of the day, the hunter within it still thrilled at prey that fought to the bitter end.
Still, it was only a matter of time. All Spiritomb had to do was be patient, wear them down little by little, and strike when the time was right.
Nix bit down on her lip as the hypnosis came again but still it seemed not to work, well good for mimi. The little dragon jumped to one side and managed to avoid the sneak attack before she once again threw her dragon pulse back at the other pokemon, she needed to start hitting it down and lose it some health before all of hers was lost. Sure enough, its move hit her back across the ground and the little pokemon lifted her head slower this time.

The star attack that Spiritomb liked to show off wasn't doing its thing today. On top of that, even though the prey was getting weakened, it wasn't fighting back as much as it had at the beginning of the battle, though the grace with which it moved out of the way of its attacks was quite entertaining, worthy of a laugh, a giggle.
If ghosts could pout, Spiritomb would have pouted. Instead, it only hovered a little higher, the spirits that made up its body oddly silent, crickets chirping.

Nix fedlt like she was going to be sick, she was sure nether mimi os misty has landed a single move yet and mimi was down to about to fall over health. She sighed as the girl was hit by the confuse ray and then the 2 other attacks and she stumbled across the ground, one more try and then she would have to be called back. If she was still up and around by then. *edit* The confuse ray seemed to hit and work well enough for a second before mimi shook it off and managed her second attack, some good luck it seemed

Stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself! Spiritomb chanted in a language that only its allies could understand. To the outside world, it sounded like nothing but ethereal moans. The wind swirled around its body, gaining in strength and intensity before dying down completely
Spiritomb laughed and laughed and laughed, giggling hysterically to itself.
