This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Rather than going on the defensive, they were all on the offensive. Rather than lose land, they'd be taking them. She liked this idea a bit too much.
Eifa was an ambush predator, she'd lore anything into a false sense of security before attacking. Sinking her venomous fangs into anything living. Hoped these idiots had vaccinated their pokemon. This was - from what she heard - the land of the beginners. This should be interesting.
For a moment, she wished she could go into the city and celebrate this new found excitement, but alas, she couldn't. That would be walking into her very own demise, and she wasn't stupid enough to do that.
She saw someone, out of the corner of her eye. She pushed the larvesta off her lap - god she'd miss how cuddly he was when he evolved - and told him to get into position.
She had thought out this ambush fairly well, and had prepared for it.Her hair was out of place, crazy and wild, she had torn her clothes in certain places, and by all appearances she looked like a victim. Eifa was a great actor. "Help me!" She called out, as she backed up into a tree, Azar took an offensive position, blowing flames out of his mouth as he stalked closer to his partner.
Sinclair didn't like the idea of the Scourge invading Ceres as much as she didn't like the idea of the Scourge existing -- which was to say, not very much; but while she may not have been familiar with the ins and outs of communication, there was one thing she knew better than anything --
-- how to fight. (So that's what she'll do.)
The scream quickened her pace, twigs and leaves crunching underneath the soles of her boots, and her fingers were already around the hilt of her knife. (Not that it'd be much help against the Scourge, of course, but it was more for her own comfort. Her gun, she had left with her mother.)
She didn't bother to speak.
Words were hardly necessary, were they?

Something in her awakened, and the look of terror left her face. Eifa grinned, and with a predator look in her eye she ordered Azar to turn around. "A little fucking stupid, huh? Walked right into it."

The woman didn't figure it out even when the terror left the woman's face -- but when she spoke and revealed herself, Sinclair's hand moved to pull a smaller knife from the inside of her jacket.

Maybe she deserved that knife being thrown at her head, just maybe. She ducked in luckily in time, and it flew right into the tree behind her. She pulled it out and flipped it around between her fingers, the blade obviously duller than when it entered the tree. "That wasn't very cute at all, miss."

Super rude, but still, cute. She moved out of the way just in time. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were trying to kill me!" She laughed. Death was a funny thing that eluded her despite her best efforts.
