she staggered into the ranger union, a rampant poochyena on her heels. the girl shut the door determinedly behind her, and heard the satisfying smash of face against wood when the poochyena rammed itself into the door. ikram allowed herself a small fistpump of victory before turning to the various pokémon in the ranger union.

"um, hi."

A busy group of pokemon and Ranger Sa'di herself were standing by the door when Ikram crashed in.

Sa'di raised an eyebrow, mostly unphased. The pokemons' reactions ranged from impassive to the opposite thereof. One of them craned their neck to peek through a window, just to see if the poochyena was still alive.

"Welcome to the Union," Sa'di said, as if Ikram had entered quite normally. "If you're looking for a partner pokemon, you've found the right place."

the poochyena was very much alive. it had trailed ikram for a reason, despite the girl thinking otherwise.

in the union, ikram glanced over the selection of pokémon. they were mostly disinterested in her; they preferred looking out at the poochyena scratching and whining at the door. the girl stepped around the long body of a seviper.

"hi," she greeted sa'di, "i am. are these all --" her voice trailed off, and she bit her lips as a few of them glanced around apathetically, as if used to such a sight. "may i the chimchar? ... if that's alright?"

"That'd be up to the chimchar," Sa'di said. "It's a voluntary partnership. I don't assign partners."

The chimchar seemed to think it was completely alright.

"oh, uh," ikram said, before attempting to catch the monkey's attention. snapping her fingers seemed to work as the chimchar turned towards her, and scratched the back of its head. it seemed entirely fine with the arrangement, and moved closer to ikram just for the sake of proving it.

"i see," she said rather lamely, exhaling. "i guess we'll see how this partnership goes, then!" she flashed sa'di a smile. "thanks for all the help!"
